Also, its been mentioned already, but using Vidofnir, the dragon who's literal introduction to the story was her being ready and willing to let go of old hate and to move on, and was actively working towards it, as an example of the game being "kiddiefied" or whatever is bizarre, your basically arguing that her previous characterization should be chucked into the bin.

And that was against a people who had directly harmed her own for over a thousand years, why would she have any issue with making peace with innocent recreations, when even the orginals there based on misdeeds happened before her father, let alone her were born?

Wow it's almost as if you can do that without having quests that revolve around the intergalatic cafe of hopes and dreams

I've been playing through the Omicron quests and I keep having to ask myself why they thought the cafe part was necessary. There is an entire mysterious new area (Elysion) that would have sufficed for the tribal quest story on its own. Why does there need to be this stupid cafe exactly?

The cafe was started a year ago in 6.0 and it was already apparent back then it was going to be used for some quest chain to gather up the aliens since it looked expandable and at the end of its quest chain at the time, populated the area with an extra alien and an NPC gave us information on them.

The whole point of it was to be a neutral zone for the Omicrons to learn from other civilizations from the Dead Ends and across Ultima Thule as a part of the new directive you gave them in their dungeon unlock quest. The cafe itself was generated by Meteion in the MSQ as part of a world that was dead before she got there and the Omicrons were like "well this is here, so we might as well use it". It came out 10 months ahead of beast tribe quests and there's not really a point of not using it.

The things you learn when you pay attention and don't skip cutscenes.

But again, this isn't exactly the weirdest concept for a tribal questline. No one had issues when we were going to build a real-world tank factory/brewery for the Dwarves. Or expanded the facilities of the lowest-ranked and laziest segment of Kobold society. Or of all the buildings that could have had real use, we helped the Moogles rebuild a plaza that symbolizes the Ishgardians and the dragons being friends and cover it in pink Moogle pom-poms.

Ya, like many of us have been saying. The tribal quests have ALWAYS been like this. They are goofy side stuff and the dev team never puts deep lore into side stuff that's not required to do. It seems to be mostly the typical trolls that have a hard on for hating on endwalker that are complaining about this.

Yeah, I still have not seen any evidence that these people have even done any previous non-combat tribe quest; if they did, they'd know this is extremely normal for them, and perhaps even on the tamer side compared to stuff like the namazu. At least some of the combat ones resemble being serious, even if a bunch of them are still silly.

Also, the cafe is there so we can have a Restaurant At The End Of The Universe. Their only mistake is not naming the loporrit involved some variant of Milliway.

EDIT: ...come to think of it, they literally released a namazu children's book. How are the Omicrons supposedly the most childish part, rather than just the latest in a line?
