No more justification needed just as there is no justification needed to explain the Momotaro underwater castle complete with box that makes you old. Or the Metal Gear “snake…snaaake” reference from Raubahn. Or the very obvious Curious G(e)orge in the warrior quest line. Or CID’s Star Trek/Gundam stuff….

You guys realize this game has lots of jokes/references to stuff, yeah? That it’s for fun..? Ya’ll remember fun right? Or is trolling/complaining your only fun?

EDIT: ...come to think of it, they literally released a namazu children's book. How are the Omicrons supposedly the most childish part, rather than just the latest in a line?

Because it's Endwalker content, therefore it's silly and ruining the tone of the game.
Doesn't matter if beast tribes quests have been light-hearted since Heavensward, especially the non combat ones.
Like Mikko said the moogle plaza is end up being fully covered of pink pompoms and it's right outside of Hraesvelgr domain.

Stormblood have it's own part of one map, with an aetheryte dedicate to fish people making a 7 years long festival.
You can't go to the Azim steppe without seeing a giant catfish statue after you're done with the quest.

So the quest popped up, and wasn't bad.

You have a talk with one of the dragons who basically tells you they have no more rage, hatred, or feelings of the sort to even think about attacking the Omicron. So you go visit Vidolfnir to ask about the homeworld, and then get the idea to make something that reminds them of the grand peaks and feeling of the wind against their scales. It works well enough to make their world appear in Elysion, much to their delight. They also state that neither they nor the Omicron are how they were back then, so there's not really much in the way of aggressive feelings there...at least for the dragon NPC there.
