1.5+ million damage, 8-0 KD, still lost, CC is bad

I'm obviously far above the skill level of everyone in this match with the numbers to prove it, so this should be an auto-win for me with no chance of loss, yet I still lost because my team is that bad. That's bad game design. One player should be able to solo carry matches if one player can cause a loss (like a team mate who DCs and thus 4vs5). Anything else is bad game design.

    ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is mostly satire, but it is really annoying how one person can cause a loss yet one person can't force a win.

Yeah, this happened a lot in season two. Every time it did to me regardless which side of it I was on it amounted to people chasing kills while one person casually strolled to the end with the crystal. This is another problem I lay at the feet of lack of ability to properly communicate.

Not sure if this is a ranked game or a casual game.

It's not talked about much, but I very strongly believe that there is a casual MMR to make sure good players don't end up on the same side, but the good players get the worst players to try to balance things out.

I've played thousands of casual games and if there is another good player that I know (like Crystal rank), we could play 100 games in a row, the game will never put them on my side. However, if there is a low damage BRD not pressing recuperate, it will always put them on my side. I think the idea is to avoid stomps, but that's not how it works.

No matter how good you are, you can't make up for several bad teammates. I probably end up losing more than I win, no matter how well I play. I've had too many games where if you sort by damage it's Blue (me), Red x 5, Blue x 4. Way too many for it to be random. I believe that in ranked the matchmaking is more randomized and in the long run if you outperform other players, you should always be able to climb. In casual, a good player can't make up for several bad ones, especially a VERY bad one.

    It is beyond frustrating.

It was a Crystal ranked match on Aether.

It's true; all MMR based team games force you into a 50/50 win rate which means the good outlier players will always have worse team mates than the enemies because if it was actually fair teams, your win rate would climb infinitely. Rather than having players with 90%+ win rates because they're good and thrive on fair matches, they're given impossible matches so their win states as close to 50% as possible. It's bad game design.

Exactly. "Elo" is a system designed for 1vs1 chess games, which is why it's terrible for team based games where individual skill has little to no weight in the outcome of the match. Essentially this makes nearly every match you play a horrible, annoying, grueling slog of a win or a complete stomp that you could do nothing to stop. Your wins take immense amount of effort to achieve, your losses are just losses that you have no control over no matter how much effort you put in. It's not fun. 50% win rate systems are not enjoyable. Who wants to play a game that you spend half your time losing no matter how good you are or deserve the win?

"But the enemy team has the same chances of getting the bads so you get stomps too, sometimes!" It does happen when you're on the backend of the "tilt" when your win rate starts dropping closer to 50% away from your usual 55%+, but when you're approaching the 60% or higher win rates, it becomes statistically impossible when the queues are populated enough.

"The only common factor in each match is you! That's why you lose!" With this logic, yeah I'm better than most because my win rate and numbers prove it, but the same logic applies to the common factor being I always have worse team mates than the enemy team to force my win rate away from 90%+ where it belongs back down as close to 50% as possible. The game wouldn't need to put bad team mates on my team if I wasn't an extreme outlier in the system.
