Ok you're clearly either not reading or aren't comprehending...Like how EW relic is gated behind Hildibrand? Which require two trials and hours of cutscenes? Or how the relic is already gated by countless hours of MSQ itself?
That aside, yes being gated by Hildibrand is probably still easier and shorter compared to being gated behind both ivalice and bozja. But who says the dev can’t cheat a bit? They can make it so that canon-wise, the player’s WoL has experienced Bozja so we don’t have to finish it to start EW relics.
It might have less activity than Eureka, but I still find a group or two during prime time for Bozja and Zadnor. DR is a bit more difficult, but I can see some people making PF for it. They’re already generous enough with the buffed Echo.
Why do you feel called out Ikara? I wasn’t even talking to you
And I can the same to you. Just because you don’t agree with people like OP doesn’t mean he’s a hater or fool. You use that terminology to devalue their opinion which only makes you look bitter and upset.
Don’t project yourself on others.
??? Now you just assume things. I like Eureka, I like Bozja. I know some people from “my camp” (as you weirdly put) who also like zone-based relic system. Why should we hate it?
Actually, yeah you’re right. My bad. I think the more fitting words are white knights, or cultist. I dunno, you pick one you like more.
I simply asked WHO here is shilling in which you have yet to answer the question. Apparently me inquiring further someone means I feel called out? Oke bud. I never ONCE called OP a hater or a fool so wtf are you even talking about? I said IF we're gonna call people defending the game shills n white knights (which is wrong) then we can call the opposite haters (still wrong). You know...giving what you get? Being fair on both sides? Didn't think I needed to lay this out to you people.
Also I've seen MANY times here people complain about not having new n fresh content with new ideas. People hated Boz cause it was just Eureka again. I'm not dumb. If they did release another Eureka zone certain folks will indeed complain about dev laziness. Again we've seen it many times here already. Never said you SHOULD hate anything. Maybe go back n reread?
Then again...reading isn't the issue. You're trying to purposely twist what I'm saying to make it look bad, which is another common thing with (yes) your camp.

Honestly this was a bad and due to very fixable options.
Relic is a complete bore for any one that has Hildebrand quest up to date. Payment of 1500 can really be done 2 out 3 times a week by any casual player, some one grinding dungeons all day or will have all relics in 1 week or 2... We need a grind even if it 1week per weapon grind.
The random dungeons have no bloody rewards that make us do it. Honestly I've done the easy on 3 different paths and I already feel like not doing them. What's the point, one mount? That's it? I remember when I started doing eureka, there were so many rewards, nice clothes for glam, the weapons were cool worth grinding. That's what I was expecting, some items I could grind, glans or even 620ilvl gear. Dunno, something, anything...
ShB relic literally started out with the same step. Use 1000 tomestones to buy 3 thavnarian powders for your base weapon. Heck the first one was given to you for free!Honestly this was a bad and due to very fixable options.

Agreed, me and my friends were so hyped for the new dungeons, only to discover they give you one shitty glam that feels out of place if you are anything other then Limsa afker. One silly rat mount and one ugly throne, its an absolute joke. And i feel like im gonna skip these relics, not only half of them right now look like they are random dungeon drop or made out of plastic or wood, And i despize Hildis slapstic humor, just not my thing. Good job Yoshi we waited months for this???
Considering the number of other games that are being released at the moment, the new patches not being gigantic timesinks is a real relief. Just speaking for myself, I have recently played Triangle Strategy, Slay the Spire, Legends Arceus, and I started Octopath Traveler - because I don't have to spend three or four hours every day in Eorzea. The new Pokemon game and Tactics Ogre are coming out soon too. I am truly grateful not to be held hostage by an MMO that forces me to play every day if I don't want to start lagging behind.
The new relics give some value back to Tomestones of Astronomics. When 6.2 was released you could make money selling crafting mats, but the prices have logically dropped now, besides, tomestones being just turned over for money is boring. The way it is designed - especially if you aren't minmaxing and regularly cap out the non-latest tomestones - you probably could get your first relic straight out during the quest. After that, it gives you an incentive to run your roulettes again so you get the other ones. But you don't have to.
For the first time they have introduced hard content for 4-player teams. I'm playing with two friends, with two more tagging along less frequently, and aside from POTD & HoH we never got to do tough content together. Now we will probably try it, which is a clear positive for me. So it's not really the "business as usual" that has been floating around. Between that and Island Sanctuary they have added some real original content to the game during this patch, it's just that as it is new, I find it extremely smart not to lock tons of rewards behind that content...because they didn't know how enjoyable it would be. If it works, they expand, if it doesn't work, they don't.
For that reason, the rewards are so far limited, so you don't force people to spend a ton of time doing something that might not really work. It's much more healthy IMO than locking relics behind having to spend dozens of hours in Eureka Pagos of all places. Bad content with good rewards is much worse design-wise than good content with bad rewards, because you can do the good content "just for fun" or be done with it and redo it later just for the hell of it. Is there a single person who thought "Mmmh, today, I will enjoy myself by going out and grinding for Louhi and Cassie because that's so entertaining" ? They are moving away from the "have to" and towards the "want to", and that is fantastic.
People are entitled to express negativity, but there's no reason to say "Everyone should feel like me". Besides, Yoshi-P has repeatedly mentioned that this game is not designed with a hardcore, "people can only play FFXIV" mindset. Every time new content is released, it seems some people get angry because they stay true to that, but it's not going to change. The game's success was built on its accessibility, it would be mind-boggingly stupid for them to do a 180 and become a huge timesink.
I was hesitant to write variant and criterion off as "one and done" but it looks like it's more like 10 and done. Finished and got the rewards I want last night, from two evenings of casual play. Please dont overwhelm me Yoshi P. Then I couldnt idle in limsa all day.... uwu
I’ve watched some videos on the variant dungeons and they look just like normal ones but with potd graphics, as in trash - boss - trash - boss - trash - boss and the rewards don’t give me any real incentive to do it.
I assume there are no twists on the difficulty formula?
Doesn’t look anywhere near an M+ equivalent and their shelf life will be small.
It feels like something you’d have no expectations for and still be disappointed.
The self importance and arrogance is too much holy…
At this point he's writing more about the game than playing it, I'm sure. I got so much stuff to do and dont even know where to start, honestly. But everyone is different so... eh. I'm just saying his constant... uh.. critique would hold more water if he wouldn't do it pretty much constantly and about literally anything, no offense. I do find a few points valid, mind. At this point it's more like white noise, though.
