If the 16 trailer is anything to go by, they will do fine.
Have a little faith.

I'm not worried about a game. I'm worried about the people creating the game. They've been boots on the ground since at least 2016 while making going on 4 expansions for this game. With all this expectation on there shoulders its easy to buckle under the pressure no matter how well your product is in the end.
...aaand of course the idea that they can have separate teams never occurred to you?All those trailers tell me is that they are siphoning resources off 14 for 16, and boy does it show.
That comes down to trust, which they have as far as I am concerned. With all this expectation on there shoulders its easy to buckle under the pressure no matter how well your product is in the end.
Patience.
What the recent FFXVI trailer is saying to me is that SE is pushing towards FF games being an Action RPG going forward. If that's the case I hope they stick with the more old school JRPG style of gameplay with the Dragon Quest series. Though I feel like it's overdue for the FF mainline series to have another FFIX-ish entry that feels more like a fantasy setting with cartoonish visuals. (Though if I were making such a game I'd probably also give it the most twisted/darkest story of any title in the franchise to date to pair with the cute and cartoonish visuals...)
You want dark?(Though if I were making such a game I'd probably also give it the most twisted/darkest story of any title in the franchise to date to pair with the cute and cartoonish visuals...)

THIS aint Mary Poppins...
People complained endlessly about Bozja and Eureka (Eureka, imo, was baller content with a fantastic payoff for grinding) and here we are. A couple tomes here and there and now we have weappons. Anyone's guess if we're even going to be grinding level 90 dungeons and fates for the rest of it, like how Bozja had people grinding HW content for whatever goddamn reason if they really disliked Bozja.
I dont admit to anything, other than my own opinion, then again my opinion is based on a vast well of experience, coming as it does from decades of gaming with lemme see here..AppleIIE, Sega Genesis, Atari, Gameboy, Amiga.....an entire slew of PC games going back PRE DOS 6.22, in that time I have seen and evaluated various companies on a variety of issues and facets, support, correspondence, responses, content, writing, music, graphics...SE is one of a handful I have considered well above average to above excellent. You don't get to literally admit to being a white knight for SE and still claim you're on the side of truth.
( I met and spoke to Al Lowe once, guy was funny and a gentleman to boot. Man is a legend. )
Blizzard once held that spot, until they proved themselves utterly incompetent beyond even my capacity to forgive.
Stating that I personally am very happy with them, the game, with their efforts, the story and the way it was presented, is no more than the truth. in my estimation they have exceeded..AND DELIVERED what they said they would.
Isahikawa Natsuko-san has proven herself a peerless writer, despite some flaws here and there ( which are in every game, so whats new... ), as far as I am concerned, I trust them, I have faith in their teams and in future content, in a game I am happy to pay for.
Customer satisfaction and retention go hand in hand.
Lastly, I include you in that earlier comment that no matter what they do, no matter how hard they try, you are the type that will always find SOMETHING to complain about. It gets a little wearing, TBH.
The rest is a YOU problem, one that I am certain is not shared by a lot of people who arent here, never will be here, who are ingame and having fun.

Depending on who's running the asylum for a given expansion, WoW swings wildly back and forth from that or catering only to the hardcore raiders and alienating everyone else. They've never really found a balance. The only thing everyone generally agrees on is that they're always neglecting someone.
