    Know what...question.
What do you do in FFXIV? Are all you doing is MSQ? Or do you actually engage in its other content?
If you dont enjoy the content that is one thing, but to say there is not enough to justify the price sounds...off. How do I: who has been playing 8-9 years STILL have plenty of stuff to do, but you sound like you dont have anything/enough to do?

Some people play more efficiently than others. (preface, I'm not bragging, this is just for perspective) I've only been playing 1.5 years, i'm at 92% minions, 67% mounts, nearly 50% achievements, all extreme mounts, all savage mounts except current, all role quests, all shared fate, a good chunk of gold saucer grinds, practically every job at 90 (sage and reaper i'm taking my time with), soon to be all Trusts will be levelled too. MSQ fully caught up, most sidequests done, all current content (that I am capable of) finished til 6.3, which is quite a way away. At which point, what is there really left for me to do? Sit around on my hands waiting for S ranks to pop? Grind tomes to buy gear that 1. doesn't matter a great deal and 2. will be replaced faster than it takes to get it? There's a very big difference between content and meaningful content. Sure, sitting around waiting for S ranks to spawn is content. And the 5 seconds it takes to kill them, is also content. But is it meaningful content? Will I look forward to doing it or grow to resent it? More than likely it'll be the latter. If it wasn't for my in-game friends, I probably would've unsubbed a while ago and just come back in 2 years or whatever for the next expansion when I'd actually have meaningful things to do

See, you have a better excuse then some, where the response is just "I dont want to do this, so it doesn't count. Which means there is nothing to do."
But also, again, if the argument is its content you arnt interested in...fine. But to just say there is nothing to do: while there are things you haven't done, is just False

I can absolutely respect this answer. I would feel the same as you buddy.

When you deal with human beings, never count on logic or consistency.

Fluid like water. Smooth like silk. Pepperoni like pizza.

The issue is people "no-lifing" the game. See one of the people who responded to you. I'm in your boat. I played on-and-off starting in 2015, then this became my main game in early 2021. I still have a entire list of things I'm looking forward to doing, from finishing my Sightseeing Log, to getting my last ARR relic weapon (Ninja), to checking out Island Sanctuary (haven't even started yet), etc.. The reality is that no matter how much content a company produces, there will be people who no-life it and consume it faster than it can humanly be produced, and then complain that there's "nothing to do." There's nothing that will ever satisfy people like that, so their input ends up being worthless.

Look no further than Island Sanctuary. The devs specifically said "you're not meant to blitz through this, take it slow". What did people do? They blitzed. Then they pikachu-faced that they don't have much to do.

The only thing I dislike at the moment is that IS feels too slow and that the overall rewards are kind of "eh"? Otherwise I'm just going in there when I feel like it, there's cooler stuff in the game to explore. *cough* like Housing *cough*

Alternatively, I will ask if there is any form of longevity in content. And by this I don't mean "within FF14 itself", but rather in MMOs in general. Is it possible to have content in an MMO that's relevant for an entire patch even beyond reaching the primary goal? Where there's more to it than just farming it for currency that gives X rewards? Because the moment you stop caring about those rewards, it stops having longevity, no?
