I'm really not miffed at all about the relic quest. I think hilibrand is pretty unique, you either like the humor or you don't. I personally did, so doing the quest chain never bothered me at all. If you've never done it, and you don't care, you can blast through it in under an hour probably if you're skipping cutscenes. As far as the relic weapon only needing tomestones... it's the base weapon. It's supposed to be dumb easy to acquire, it's not supposed to take any grind or any real investment. It's meant to be something any player can acquire for essentially free. This way everyone is on an equal footing once the next relic steps are added and the genuine "grind" starts. I think that's how it should be.
As far as the new dungeon system, so far it seems interesting... but my problem arises from the lack of rewards. The glam is cool, but it's a very "niche" glam that not everyone is going to be into or ever use. For content like this, I really think more rewards need to be added as soon as possible, additional glamour sets of different style. Or, they find a way to tie this dungeon system into the main gear progression pathway. Whether that's with another green gear-set that's like ilvl 615(just below tomestone/envoy gear) for the normal version, and for the savage version, it could be a source of Moonshine Twine/Shine/Brine for the Augmented 630 gear.
What I'm hoping is that this new dungeon system is going to get a lot of developer focus and attention going forward into the future, at least the 4 man savage content aspect of it. My hope is that eventually it gets tied into main gear progression and that this is the first step to YoshiP/Square branching out from the overly predictable content release framework that this game has had for YEARS now. Like how there's always ONE raid zone per expansion, with 3 tiers each consisting of 4 bosses. How there's usually 3 trials at exp launch, another 2'ish added during an expansion's lifecycle, etc. I think they need to spice things up if they want to start catering to a larger, broader audience in the mmorpg "space". And if that's gonna happen, I think the formula will need to be tweaked sooner or later.
