I agree too, frankly.

I played another MMO for over a decade. A so-called Free to Play one - it used to be a pretty good game, but sadly turned into a FOMO-driven mess with Devs who became reliant on FOMO tactics and loot boxes and, as a result, neglect the actual game content. They only release one episode every five or so months and the rest of the time expect players to constantly play 'events' which last for weeks and involve repeat-playing recycled content with invisible timers, infinite waves of enemies and every other stupid scheme used to make sure players don't finish a given piece of new content too quickly. I mean, having to play a piece of content every now and then is all fine, but grinding it every day for weeks is a sure way to make me hate it to the point of not wanting to replay it ever again.

Saying that, the Devs of that game have made it clear that they consider the items that they sell through their cash-shop (or put into the loot boxes) to be 'content'. I, personally, don't agree and one of the many reasons I quit that game was because I had little interest in spending £250 on their cash-shop item 'bundles' or gambling to win their loot box grand prize. What's the point in shiny new items when there is absolutely no new content to use them in?

I much prefer paying a Subscription over the sort of sleazy, predatory, F2P model that the game I referred to, as well as others, have adopted.
