Thank you for assuming I just bum rushed through the room and didn't think to look around or examine my surroundings. That's really super special amazing awesome fun.![]()
I'm of the opinion that SE isn't great at creating content that is long-lived as a whole. Not the least bit sorry about this.... They really can't have valid complaints. Trying to consume anything in mass quantities in as short a time as possible is always going to have drawbacks. Everything is better in moderation. The only people that have an excuse to even rush this are content creators.
But in this particular case, what would you say is an acceptable number of days for people to get what they want out of this? I really only wanted the mount and the emote, both of which I got yesterday in about 4 hours. If I instead only ran this one hour a day and it took me four days total - is that better? Would my opinions suddenly be more valid if I only ran one dungeon run a day and stretched this out to two weeks?
Best I can figure they were going for something the community can come together and work out as a collective(like WoW secrets discord does) which is nice on paper but in practice it means only a handful of people really see about solving the puzzles which is kind of a bummer. My biggest gripe is with how obscure some of the route clues are, or how certain routes are separate by a sliver of dialogue that requires the smallest of details. I would never have figured out the correct ore sacks to use on the left path without having looked up the answer. I don't need the answer to necessarily be obvious, but I'd at least like to know where to look for the answer.
I can cosplay Columbo in FFXIV now. I'm happy.
The shoe fits. It's day 2 and you jumped straight to a guide.
I'm saying no one is great at creating content that is long-lived. What some of these people want cannot and will never be done.I'm of the opinion that SE isn't great at creating content that is long-lived as a whole.

What's an acceptable number of days? Acceptable doesn't sound like the right word. Reasonable, maybe? Rather than dwell on that, here's the big picture:
We're talking about this on Wednesday, when it came out and was done yesterday.
It's two months to the next update.
They can only produce so much at any given time and not everyone has the glut of free time other people do. All that is considered in what they release.
Like everything else in life, folks could learn to pace themselves better. They're only creating more stress for themselves (and sometimes others) by rushing. It comes down to it being a personal problem than a SE (or whatever company) problem. It's not for me to decide how to best proceed, only to suggest trying to chill tf out and try to enjoy the content.

I love variant, and I'm a huge fan of diving deeper into some very ancient ARR lore. The exploration, boss variations are all fantastic. . I can't wait to see what the next variant dungeon is. I haven't done criterion or criterion savage yet, but I'm excited to see what it has in store! Great job FFXIV team!!
I'm hopeful for the next dungeon being the Gelmorran ruins in North Shroud. There's that very conspicuous fancy door just waiting to be a dungeon entrance.
I KNOW RIGHT! I know POTD and tam-tara are supposed to be dives into Gelmorra, but I would certainly not mind more. It's clear that the devs *do* remember it, as you can actually find Alpha and Omega inspecting the Gelmorran ruins.
glad im not the only one who remembers this door exists!
I'm curious about a couple of doors in Dravania too that are very conspicuous. Particularly one segment of the map that requires flight to reach but curiously never has anything take place there
plus, ishgard and dravania before the dragonsong war is very unexplored territory lore wise. We know not every ishgardian was happy with the war breaking out even back then.
A criterion behind one of these doors would be great
I cannot agree with this. Me and my chicken nuggies have a fast and loose relationship, and we've never split once! ;3Not the least bit sorry about this.... They really can't have valid complaints.
