But in this particular case, what would you say is an acceptable number of days for people to get what they want out of this? I really only wanted the mount and the emote, both of which I got yesterday in about 4 hours. If I instead only ran this one hour a day and it took me four days total - is that better? Would my opinions suddenly be more valid if I only ran one dungeon run a day and stretched this out to two weeks?
In your opinion, what MMORPG has done a good job of making content that is long lived for every type of player? Could you describe that content for us and let us know why it was long lived for you?

From my personal experience, content here lasts a lot longer than in other MMORPGs in large part because of the tomestone gearing system. Even if I get all the other rewards, the tomestones will continue to give me a reward that will be useful in some way whether it is gear for alt jobs, to buy crafting materials or to get topsoil for my garden.

You literally just said it, content that gives gear/power rewards. As long as content gives power, people will do said content hence why for long lived content to be important, you need to put power rewards in it.

Criterion could easily be long lived in the same way m+ was in WoW, gear becomes the incentive while also doing content you enjoy.

The tryhard elitist is the person who is going to finish their 5 pieces on this created to be beaten """"challenge"""" and then complaint that the baby, slower or less dexterous person are a problem which not only is toxic but indirectly implies that doing this basic created to be beaten task faster is an """achievement""" of """great skill""" which helps to falsely boost the elitist's self worth as that is their true motive, if challenge was truly their desire they would relish in the chance to do more than the rest.
The healthy person on the other hand will either let people finish their part or assist them for their self worth does not depend on solving basic puzzles created to be beaten, aka as a video game.

But DoT management just for the sake of having something else to do wouldn't be that great really. Variant Spirit Dart is a button you can press in any weave window with no loss, meaning you can reapply it in advance if you are about to enter a period when all of your weave windows will be spoken for. If you actually had a DoT as part of your job action set, there would be a loss associated with applying it too early or too late, which would cause complaints when people get annoyed that they need to reapply their DoT early or late because it's going to fall off during a period of weave saturation.
    It's all good!

But that's what I'm saying.. a 30sec dot that's oGCD with no cooldown for GNB. The current 2 dots are 1 gcd an 1 ogcd and used only during the no mercy windows as they're 1min cooldowns lasting 15/30sec.

Having a 30sec ogcd with no cooldown would allow us to keep a dot up during normal rotation phases and keep use it during no mercy as well to snapshot the damage increase. Which would help with down time from the boss between lighting shot attacks.

Tried Variant and it was a cool concept with poor execution, I doubt I'll voluntarily keep playing after the 12 paths are done.
Haven't had the chance to try Crit, as I'm trying to organize some friends to do it. The rewards / reward system has deflated the hype that I once had for it, however.

It's not that they're bad at it, it's becoming more and more clear that they just don't want to. The scheduled content drops are working wonders for them, they have no incentive to go for long lasting systems. As long as they can hook a certain amount of resubs, they seem fine. Whether they care how/if you're spending your time during said sub is something I wonder about with every passing patch.

Disappointed by the criterion rewards (they could've at least added twines/coatings in there, it's HELL to gear multiple jobs unless you wait the loot unlock when it is irrelevant a month later...)
Actual content is okay, nothing wrong there IMO.

Variant rewards tomestones. I received both Causality and Astronomy for the clear, and additional Astronomy for the first time bonus.

I find it difficult to believe that Criterion doesn't likewise reward at least the same amount if not more.

There's your gear rewards. It's not instant gratification but you will get something eventually. It remains to be seen if SE will upgrade the tomestones when the new one comes out in 6.4 but at the very least we should still be getting Causality at that point.

It seems V&C dungeons are generally well received from what I read in this thread. Hopefully SE will take note of this and improve the rewards. I'm giving them the benefit of doubt the devs are unsure of players feedbacks so they hold off putting too much rewards in it.

I do not have the time to try it yet but I am liking what I'm reading so far. Just unlocked it yesterday but I'll get to it on weekends where I could play for longer. Are there different rewards for each versions or completion? Could anyone enlighten me on this?

the tomestone reward for Normal Criterion is 30 Causality...

Causality has been out for 8 weeks now. 3600 potential tomestones total.

what a great "gear reward", I'm sure people will run it for 30 tomes. instead of...you know, a single Troia/Azdaal's for 50. even Wondrous Tails gives 50 for a single line.

I'm really enjoying the lore and everything surrounding them, but yeah I feel the rewards are on the lackluster side. I like the rewards there it just....seems like such a small pool.

This is the kicker for me. The content I look forward to the most was told to Take 5 this expansion and this is what they made in it's stead. Rather disappointing by comparison and the bad rewards, 2 mounts I personally don't care for and an outfit that doesn't look good on me, aren't exactly stimulating for me. Hoping something improves for the future V&C Dungeons as the game now lacks larger scale content that I like outside of one weekly Alliance Raid run
