    DO something about DRK and Monk trolls/griefers on Borderland Ruins (Frontline)

    Everytime Borderland Ruin comes around there are pre-formed parties of monks with dark knights that do absolutely nothing BUT hide behind pillars on the edge, then jump down onto enemy ramp to stun and push people down the ramp to their deaths.

    Darks jump down to a small ledge while attempting to pull masses of people to their deaths. Those darks then jump from the ledge to the ramp, jump down to the ground, run away, rinse and repeat. If they're successful, they can get 1/3 of the whole alliance. Sometimes they will even have a paladin friend who uses guardian on them to make sure they can sprint to the the top of the ramp and pull people down.

    It's NOT FUN for ANYONE going up the ramp first or going down the ramp last, anyone who is a little bit further from the team while attacking nodes, or anyone who TRIES to fight them. Those trolls/griefers will run away, hang around the edge of the platform, then push anyone who tries to fight them near the edge.

    People going up the ramp can't even see what's on the cliff, because the camera angle isn't right. They'd have to instantly guard when they see a monk or dark jump down. Most do not react in time.

    These trolls do nothing but grief people. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THEM. Change the map design or remove fall damage PLEASE. They won't care if they don't get any points from deaths resulting from fall damage; they will still do it because they like exploiting this broken mechanic and grieving people

    How does that make them trolls/griefers?? They're your enemies. What's stopping you from sending up a few people in advance to clear out the area?

    Serious question.. are there achis or other things tied to that map? Iirc i think not.. you can do as i do since way before this new pvp: never go mid. Are you gonna lose? Who cares.. you can win in the other Maps. It Is outright stupid that One class with Just One skill can do so much damage.. sure you can Hunt them and kill them, but what do you gain? They'll soon come back and kill another 4-5 ppl Just by pressing one skill..
    First It was WAR with holmgang, now this.. at least before i had fetter Ward, and ninja Hide to at least get on top of the ladder.. now i dont even dare set a foot on the stairs.. when Borderland Is on i Just Do my Daily and call It a day. Also that map suck and last too long. (99% of the time It last the full 20 mins)

    Now PLS dont do as Usual and put words in my mouth.. it's not that i cant deal with pushers and pullers, it's Just that i find infuriating how ppl (as usual) take advantage of theese Little tricks.. i can name at least 4 ppls by name that Always do this and i kicked all their Sorry asses in more than an occasion.. but it Is not "Fair" that i have to do 5 times the work to kill them, while they can Just go Oops and oneshot you (using fall DMG). Give me back fetter Ward and we can talk

    Yea honestly, just skip going mid if you find them bothersome. Whenever I play mnk on there, the others just tag u and retreat to one of the pillars and try to bait you to just stun>enlighten lol.
    I usually just see machinists/drks going for a cheeky knockback/pull standing on your ramp. :P

    ...is all I understand from this. Sorry but other than a map redesign I can not see any reason why jobs with knockback / draw-in effects should be punished for cleverly utilising their kit for environmental damage. This is a PvP classic.

    What's next, we gonna be mad at them for drawing people into the track line when the train arrives on Hidden Gorge?

    Classic or not, there is a point where it gets too much though.

    Team fortress 2 has plenty of places where the pyro can do that. But most maps where the pyro was too effective at doing this have been reworked in such way the pyro cant camp anymore. Now it only works for short moments, or in a flank. And counter play is a very important thing, in tf2 it was handled in such way that excessive areas of knockback potential had some tactical walls placed which disrupt the ideal camping position. The camp position still works to stay out of the line of sight, but to properly knockback, you are forced to move out or you will knock them in a wall.

    And in team fortress you also have the vertical aspect in which persistant knockbacks can still force someone over a wall. Which in this game could be simulated by having a wall that can be broken by damage and then recovers over a while. In which case you reveal the presence by having missing walls (allowing counterplay by awareness).

    Usualy when its excessive you will notice an excessive number of players aiming for that tactic. And in newer content this usualy shows up a lot more anyway 'because funny'.

    I think the golfers are cleverly using their toolkit, and I applaud them for it. The counter is to get off your mount at the halfway point at the ramp and be ready to hit guard, get up the ramp early at the risk of your flags getting stolen (or using a different ramp), or stay with the downstairs squad and risk missing the mid nodes.

    It's frustrating when you are the golfball, yes, but that's not due to trolling or griefing. That's encouraging both you and your opponent to use brainpower in Frontline.

    ……..that sounds funny as hell. Went from PLD not fun because cover to drk/monks yeeting ppl off of cliffs so it’s not fun. I’m waiting for the next thing that is Reaper’s LB making ppl fall off cliffs

    I've stopped playing for mid since this type of strategy is advantageous for those who hit the top. Instead, I'll camp that team's home base while nodes are spawning for whatever team is using the strategy. If individuals decides to panic rush me over a loss of their base that's free battle high for me 70% of the time.

    Golfing is annoying. However, it's fair play. It's not trolling. It's not griefing.

    Pushing people off the platform is fine to me. I only queue that map just to push people off, no hard feelings, I do get pushed off too and it's fine.

    I think your frustration stems from the fact that it's a premade that keeps ruining your experience. This is another issue that is really hard for me to come up with any suggestions to fix it. I know people that are strongly against premades in FL, and others are OK with it.
