(SPOILERS) Fitting jobs for EW's final area...

So, I made a post a while back about picking a job that fit with Endwalker's story; you guys certainly came through, gave me quite a few ideas. Now, I wanted to do something a bit smaller-scale; I was wanting to get a job that could fit with the general "end of the universe" vibe that EW's final area, Ultima Thule, had.

Instead of the entire Dynamis ordeal, I wanted to focus on the area itself and the races that are there; basically, I was making a character that could conceivably fit in with one of the races. For that, I need to get the job figured out first; I was considering Machinist, since the Omicrons, Grebuloff, and Karellians all use guns an advanced technology.

Aside from Machinist, though; what jobs do you guys think fit with the races of Ultima Thule?

Personally, either Dark Knight or Summoner.

The lore of Dark Knights is all about confronting a seemingly insurmountable and never ending task, for there will always be people who want to harm others, who will use tools and institutions to cover themselves even as they leave innocent people to suffer. And yet a Dark Knight acts to help such innocents, even if the task is endless, even as the faces change and yes even if means scorn and misery... because some things are worth enduring that misery for and in a place like Ultima Thule that conviction is a powerful thing to hold.

I find Summoner fits as well because of their harnessing of primal energies. Primals are nothing less than a manifestation of faith made possible through a potent enough energy source. That faith is important, moreso than any objective or provable fact: Ifrit is not just a being of fire, he is the inspiration that the Amalj'aa look to in dark times. Titan is not just a being of earth to the Kobolds, he is a father figure, a nurturing nourishing force. It was that faith which shaped them, their societies and how they responded to the world around them. Those in Ultima Thule however don't believe in anything, not even life meaning or otherwise. So I think there is something meaningful about going through that land as a job which manifests those incarnations of meaning.

Those are good suggestions, just... not quite what I was thinking. I wasn't really thinking about the themes of the area, I was thinking more along the lines of a cosplay build, so to speak; basically, which job(s) doing you think one of the races on Ultima Thule would be classified as?

For instance, your suggestion of Summoner would really fit the Nibirun, the world of the Plenty from the Dead Ends; similar to the Ancients, the Nibirun were shown to be REALLY good at creating monsters. Granted, they created/summoned said monsters as a form of mass suicide, but the point still stands.

Meanwhile, there's also the Paladin job, which is - bizarrely - somewhat similar to the Luminions' way of fighting, using a similar sword and shield fighting style.

Then, there's the Machinist, which sort of combines traits from several races; the advanced technology - including teleporting a robot buddy to assist you - of the Omicrons, the usage of plagues/chemical weapons like the Grebuloff, and lastly/obviously the usage of guns like the Karellians.

Sorry for the unclear wording earlier; I was seriously rushed to try and get to work, and I wasn't thinking straight.

Funnily enough, this answer actually does fit in this context, albeit slightly; my beginning job, Archer/Bard, is similar to the bow-using Omega-M, which is an Omicron.

So, I have four jobs so far: Summoner, Paladin, Machinist, and Bard; any other suggestions?

Astrologian for the EA, with their studies of otherworldly knowledge, it seems to fit to me.

That's a very good suggestion; hadn't thought about that one. Plus, it also brings to mind the whole "cosmic/astral" and "choosing your fate" themes that Ultima Thule has.

Also let me bring in both Sage, and White Mage; funnily enough, both fit in with the Omicrons. Sage certainly seems like job similar to what the Omicrons would use; while they aren't exactly healers, Omicrons certainly love their advanced technology and lasers. Meanwhile, White Mage comes from Omega, like Bard did above; in this case, it's the job used by Omega-F in the boss fight.
