Fix: Discarded Bozjan Relic Weapon Prior To Completion?

I'm told that item restorations by GMs can only go 1 week back maximum. I get why this rule is in place for a random item, but I'm told this also applies to items that are literally required for quests (i.e. ShB Relic Weapon quests).

Why is this the case? A quick item search on my inventory and then looking into by quest log should confirm that I should have had that item regardless of how long ago I might have discarded it.

I'd like to see that rule changed, especially for items that are requirements for a quest, at least until they work in a permanent fix for this - as in, I'm not even sure why I am allowed to discard the item in the first place...
