There's not much to debate here.
Use whatever you like that fit your needs (not cheating) as long as you don't talk about it (because it's technically forbidden but they can't check what's on your PC) or harass others with it.
Same answer as always.
Why are you parsing alliance raids to begin with? O.o
Really weird when people do that, same as when people parse dungeons. You don't need *everything* to be as efficient as possible nor do random people deserve to be tracked quietly in the background without their knowledge.
Keep that to statics/actualy stated parse runs where it belongs.

I love it when people call something weird just because they can't think of anything else to say.Why are you parsing alliance raids to begin with? O.o

I understand personalities that are based on feelers, just as much as logical personalities.
If you don't understand why someone would do that, that doesn't make it weird, nor anything else. I personally think in a Raid is over the top, sure, but I also won't deny some peoples need to be that precise with their logic in the game and with figuring out maxing themselves out either.
It wouldn't be over the top at all for someone that is constantly currently, or, working up to doing the currently hardest content. It's efficient to get into the habit of maxing themselves out, during a raid would be, like practice
There is nothing weird about it.

Nah it's just weird. I have plenty more to say but weird sums it up pretty well.I love it when people call something weird just because they can't think of anything else to say.

If you're parsing random strangers without their knowledge in content that ultimately does not require efficiency (outside of the final bit where the scale balancing comes into play) that's weird. If you're using it for yourself without aims of posting it anywhere, that's fine. More power to you. I don't care at that point. My issue comes in when people are parsing quietly in the background and use it to harass people during or after that they weren't doing enough.
I can understand it for extreme/savage/ultimate content where you have a group of people that are aware you're parsing them and where the fight itself requires more efficiency to clear before enrage...but "casual" content (like roulettes) doesn't have that same need.
It's weird. Disagree with me if you want but ultimately my opinion isn't gonna change. Is that enough words for you or should I continue?

This is why I play Archer in Alliance Raids. Not like they require efficiency, right?Nah it's just weird. I have plenty more to say but weird sums it up pretty well.

Green is just a color. What does that have to do with anyone pulling their weight?
Want to know if someone is pulling their weight? Find out from SE what minimum raid DPS is needed to down a boss encounter. Divide that by the number of members in the raid group. Is the amount of DPS a player is doing close to that amount, adjusted for other contribution they make that will? If so, they're pulling their weight.
Too often parser junkies set the bar for "pulling weight" far too high for what an encounter actually requires because they're after speed runs, not simple clears.

While I understand the approach, it doesn't quite work out the same. Prange, Summoner and Red Mage all deal substantially less damage than Melee. Likewise, so do Tanks and Healers—the latter of whom have other responsibilities. All this has to be accounted for. Hence why a simple "divide by 8" doesn't work. Even with all that said, people usually say others aren't pulling their weight if say, the DRG is getting massively out-damaged by both the Summoner and Bard despite having better gear than both. Sure, the group as a whole may still have the DPS but it's off the backs of other players essentially carrying the load. That can be, understandably, frustrating when the discrepancy is relatively high.Green is just a color. What does that have to do with anyone pulling their weight?

A prime example of that comes from Healers. Nobody likes the chad co-healer that hardly contributes any healing and attempts to force all the GCD healing to their co-healer. Again, if said co-healer simply "sucked it up," no one has would even notice a problem. But only one player is actually pulling their weight here.
