New story writer for 7.0

This is a decidedly Western viewpoint. Valid from your perspective, sure.

But in a society where ongoing visual media series are just hitting their stride after 10 years, it is way off the mark.

Detective Conan, sitting at 900+ episodes at this time, is a case in point. As is JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, now getting close to 40 years in print. Black Butler is almost at the 200 mark. (ok, ok, #193 just came out last week).

If Tolkien had been writing Japanese serials, Frodo might still be on the way to Mordor.

JoJo swaps out its core cast and story every few years (well, JoJolion went for ten years, but wasn't exactly supposed to), so that's not the best example, but you're generally making a right point.

I would suggest to Aveyond that, if they think ten years of these characters is too much for them, that they don't have to keep being here for it. That's fine, it's completely okay to move on and find new joys in your life. They seem to fundamentally disagree with the way the story is written on the whole, so they'd probably be happier playing something else instead.

So it's okay for Aveyond to say create all these complaining threads with little to no substance and parade around with his inflated elitist opinion and also lie, in some cases, but we're not allowed to tell him otherwise, and tell him to play something else if he doesn't like the game because we don't want his toxic behavior to bring us all down? And we're the toxic ones for telling him so? Yeah, okay, sure.

That's like saying someone who crashes an event just to hate on it is allowed to do so but the people who want to enjoy the event aren't allowed to ask security to escort him out.

Glad that we get a new writer in 7.0. While Ishikawa managed to create some amazing stories or sub plots (Thancred and Ryne were a lovely one) I still feel like that Heavensward and ARR do a better job at creating a living, breathing world than any of the newer expansions do in terms of story telling. The new cities are so uninteresting and bland, because there is nothing notable going on in the cities to make them feel alive. Ul'dah, Limsa and Ishgard are terrible places to live in, because it has shown that these places are anything but perfect. Meanwhile the Crystarium has a 0% crime rate apparently.

Hope that the new writer gives us a great expansions and fills some holes left by Ishikawa (like for example where do we even get the rpr avatar from?)

Something important to remember with large stories like this is that there's a difference between 'gaps in important knowledge', 'actual plot holes', and just 'a question with an unimportant answer'. Chances are pretty good that the only thing special about our Avatar is that they're our Avatar. Beyond that, their identity is as unimportant as 'who used to own our Warrior soul crystal'. It would be nice to know, yes, but let's not pretend it's important that we do.

I dunno considering it's the xth person living inside the WoL's body/soul, I'd certainly love to know that. Even most of the lower voidsents have some sort of personality, so just having one appear out of nowhere with no personality whatsoever after picking up some random soul crystal when they are usually summoned from the void would kind of be... lame.
