And for every person who says this, there's 10 people pointing out that they love EW, are extremely proud of it, and are entirely pleased with the current direction of the game. You might not feel that way, by acting like some almighty arbiter of truth when you're giving a personal opinion just comes off as very immature. Personally, I hope Yoshi-P continues his involvement as he's been doing. There's a reason EW has the highest playerbase, highest late-patch retention, and is usually ranked among the Top-2 expansions (along with ShB).

Do you have ANY other lines?

Do you have any other snarky responses than one single image, or is your entire discourse stuck in early 90s teenage edginess?

I can understand them not wanting to make war the focus of a story again, but it would feel pretty anti-climactic if the whole situation in Ilsabard blew over with no conflict whatsoever.

The Garlean legions seem to intend to break off their respective provinces into their own independently governed states, but whether that will be for weal or woe remains to be seen. Having to deal with the political turmoil on top of some larger-scale threat be it supernatural or otherwise would make for a compelling story, IMO.

I'll get a new image when he gets a new line. This one still fits too well.

I'd certainly really enjoy that story, but I think we're in a weird place to approach it. The angle for post-6.0 seems to be that to do whole new stories that aren't tied too heavily to everything that came before (with the Thirteenth being a uniquely strong position for transitioning there, since it's technically an old loose end but one that's never really gotten explored), which is completely fair and probably smart, but it leaves certain parts of the story in weird states, and the Empire and their previously-occupied territories is probably the biggest. Yeah, they're in a position where an epilogue would probably be interesting, but it kinda can't be the main story if they want to do a clean break that people don't have to worry too much about pre-existing info for.

Which honestly I think is probably better, because there's not much that story could do that wasn't already done by 4.x and Bozja, especially if it's a 'main' story that therefore has to somehow incorporate a large amount of combat; Bozja was already retreading a lot of the same notes as Stormblood. Garlean stuff is best suited for the sideline right now, the sort of content that actually is completely fine with centering stuff that isn't combat or broad audience appeal. We've wrung 'Garlemald and occupied territories as a core for combat content' dry, but we haven't really tapped into it for crafting and gathering content, nor for 100% story-driven content like Hildibrand or The Paths We Walk; the closest we got to the latter was Omega's 6.1 questline, but that didn't dwell on them long.

While I can understand why they'd want to start fresh in 7.x, it would feel a bit awkward to get all these teases and tidbits about what's been going on in over Ilsabard since even before 6.x but be left hanging even longer while we've still got the map obscured.

Depending what the nature of this "great change" is I could see that end up being the major focus over anything pertaining to political conflict, particularly if it's bringing some manner of new threat into the picture.

After having been robbed of a Garlean expansion and the unceremonious termination of Ivalice’s plotlines, my desire to explore the rest of Ilsabard has only increased more. I’ll certainly take a story of war and politics set in the more European-inspired regions of the world as opposed to what the community expects Meracydia to be, to say nothing of how little interest I have in anything “New World” themed.

As for starting fresh in 7.0, I feel like they could’ve done so and still had us go to Ilsabard through mercenary work or things of that nature. Go to a pub, pick up a job, gather a party of local swords for hire there and set off. Short sweet and to the point. Unfortunately there have been some who seriously tried to argue that “the Wol was still having problems trusting food” or some nonsense the last time I pitched the idea or that it wouldn’t be epic or compelling enough, nevermind the need to reset both our power level and get away from cosmic stakes.

However we now find ourselves in a situation where the Void is now front and center of this plot, with some major event being teased in the future. Short of Golbez succeeding in his plans, I can’t think of much else aside from a war/political plot that would make for a decent premise for 7.0, and I don’t think Meracydia or the New World are good fits for that sort of story to take place. Let all the demons come and wreck the Source. Let nations struggle and compete with each other for resources on top of combatting this threat. Let some of this game’s insufferable comfort characters perish now that they have no reason to remain on screen. Do everything that Endwalker failed to do. Stop writing around the feelings of people who don’t get that its ok for bad things to happen to characters and places. I don’t want a safe story, I want something bold.

The business with Ilsabard and the Garlean legions are the last major hanging thread from the original story arc that needs to be sorted out, so I'm just really hoping they'll do that justice sooner then later since barring some surprise revelations/additional details from Myths of Realm and/or Pandaemonium, I'm liable to remain unsatisfied with how they chose to tie up the Ascians/Ancients who were one half of the big 1.x through 6.x picture.

They may be leaving it to fester for it to come back up later. A case of "Oh yeah, you know how you were busy with this? Well trouble started happening in Landis and Nagxia. We're gonna need your help."
