Thread: New story writer for 7.0

I don't know why those who hate the writing are so fixated on the "newfound adventure" that was the name for ONE patch (6.1) only. Every patch has a different name... that has been a thing since 2.1...so any "failure" is on your own part for being so fixated on a throwaway patch name.

A patch name is equivalent to an episode title. It's just to glitz up the patch and give a little bit of what it's about, not making it is "entire story". Only you and a few vocal minorities have this "story" issue. Yet you act like you speak for the entire playerbase, which isn't the case.

And it's kinda funny, I thought shill knights would listen to Yoshi-p words, but apparently not, considering the man himself hype "newfound adventure" so much that EW delay is due to him wanting emet to become his mouthpiece. But nooo.. It's the player's fault for expecting that to happen.

The game could've easily introduced minor npc to go on a light adventure with us, but here have the scions instead, even though just a patch ago they said they're "disbanding" to go incognito.

"Disbanding" in quote marks, as an official organisation. They're still our friends and they're allowed to still hang out with us as individuals.

Yeah, TOTALLY not the toxic one when your rationale boils down to basically "STFU and GTFO" with a larger word-count.

If that's the case, what he says boils down to "Blah blah blah, you're wrong and I'm right, that's a fact" is just as toxic, but I don't see anyone saying that to him.

But whatever, time to go do more of the new content instead of wasting time here.

You know, I'm genuinely curious if you have EVER watched a show that goes on for more than 10 years. I can guaranteed you that they don't suddenly change their main characters because you think "we had them for 10 years already, time for a change!" ...that's called bad writing, you know? But it seems you're a fan of bad writing because that's all you go on about. The ONLY time long running shows change main characters is if they had a second "part" to it or change the name, after a timeskip or something, which we have not had.

Based on your "10 years of characters too much in a long running game/show, gotta change!" I bet you think shows like One Piece, Dragon Ball Z/Super, Naruto, Pokemon, and whatever other series I can't recall atm are all "bad". Most of these shows, I admit, I never stuck around for. Why? Because the characters don't appeal to me and I didn't like where the series was going. Maybe, I dunno, you should do the same? Drop the "show" of FFXIV if you don't like the characters?

No, what's toxic is other people acting like only their opinion matters and keeps screaming the same tired thing at others in hopes to get attention and crying about how things are so so so horrible. And then people disagree with them and tell them otherwise, start crying about how they are being bullied.

Nothing what I said was toxic because it was the truth. None of his whining about the story will ever come to fruition. The Japanese developers and story don't CARE about his OPINION on how he thinks they should do THEIR story. It's THEIR story. Not his. Not yours. Not anyone else's. You either come along for the ride or get off if you don't like it. That's how it was before we had social media or anything to contact the producers about and tbh that is how it should stay.

I read what you said. You said we should find someone new to go on an adventure with because we "disbanded" with the Scions, which we did not. They are still our friends and we still have every reason to call on them when we need help with dungeon exploration.
