Why does everyone use PF as a representation of the game?

I have been told for the last 6 weeks by seemingly people who cleared that there can never ever ever be balance issues if a single team of players managed to clear the fight on week 1 using nay particular job no matter how undertuned it is.

Aside from the fact that fflogs basically showed none of those jobs clearing week 1, using week 1 top tier players as an example of balance is never a good thing because the best of the best can get around extreme issues, but even then this tier the best of the best were forced to swap off jobs like WAR, PLD and MCH to reach a week 1 clear.

One of the most popular streamers and notorious WAR simp switched off his main job because GNB completely dunked all over WAR. The margin for error week 1 was so ridiculously tight due to the poor job balance running a comp which included all the jobs you listed had a less than 1% chance of clearing due to crit variance. In fact, none of those jobs cleared as a comp together. They all cleared with some other meta combination.

So yeah, this is complete nonsense.

Edit: To further emphasise my point. As someone who cleared door boss week 1. My 41% ranked Dark Knight clear matched the 100% logs of Warrior and Paladin. That's utterly insane.

Because PF is where the vast majority of players experience end-game content. If you polled the entire playerbase, I think the gap between players who solely use PF versus those who raid in statics would be much larger than we'd think.

every source I search for claims that the vast, vast majority of raiders are casual raiders who only raid 3h a week in a static made of 7 other friends
pf is only for the irrelevant minority of players who play more than 10h a day

Your vulgarity is also unwarranted. Im a working parent with limited time to play. With family and work schedule , static arrangements can be challenging. Hence u are you in no position to speak on my/our behalf.

Pfs and Dfs endgame still have a place for players in elemental.

There's a shortage of healers... in PF only.
week 1 hardcore statics had no problem finding healers
casual statics don't have problems finding healers
midcore statics don't have trouble finding healers.

Some jobs are being excluded from high end raiding... in PF only
week 1 hardcore statics don't exclude jobs
casual statics sure as hell don't exclude jobs
you will always find a midcore static recruiting your job

The DPS check for p8sp1 was too tight... for PF only
week 1 hardcore statics had no problem clearing with any job composition
casual statics don't care about week 1 clearing
midcore statics also don't care about week 1 clearing

It feels to me like people just use PF as a reflection of the state of the balance of the game, when in reality PF is maybe 0.01% of the entire raiding playerbase.

And the worst part is that the developers are catering to PF by making balance decision aimed directly at helping PF clear.
