Why does everyone use PF as a representation of the game?

casual statics don't have problems finding healers
midcore statics don't have trouble finding healers.

Some jobs are being excluded from high end raiding... in PF only
week 1 hardcore statics don't exclude jobs
casual statics sure as hell don't exclude jobs
you will always find a midcore static recruiting your job

The DPS check for p8sp1 was too tight... for PF only
week 1 hardcore statics had no problem clearing with any job composition
casual statics don't care about week 1 clearing

It feels to me like people just use PF as a reflection of the state of the balance of the game, when in reality PF is maybe 0.01% of the entire raiding playerbase.

And the worst part is that the developers are catering to PF by making balance decision aimed directly at helping PF clear.

Because PF is how the majority of people interested in some form of high-end content get their fix. Work schedules are rough, and herding a whole bunch of cats together is made all the more difficult by this fact. People can't just pull statics out of their behinds, and the increased number of players uninterested in socializing with others makes it so many of them wouldn't want a static even if they could get one. Then, on top of all that, those looking for one often find it can surprisingly difficult to find a static that fits in terms of skill level and personalities.

One of the most popular streamers and notorious WAR simp switched off his main job because GNB completely dunked all over WAR. The margin for error week 1 was so ridiculously tight due to the poor job balance running a comp which included all the jobs you listed had a less than 1% chance of clearing due to crit variance. In fact, none of those jobs cleared as a comp together. They all cleared with some other meta combination.

So yeah, this is complete nonsense.

Edit: To further emphasise my point. As someone who cleared door boss week 1. My 41% ranked Dark Knight clear matched the 100% logs of Warrior and Paladin. That's utterly insane.

Not true, but even if it was, that number is tripled by other jobs. There's barely 5k clears uploaded for MCH on fflogs and like nearly 20k for samurai.

I don't know what point you're trying to make, but PF's are not the minority and MCH's are in a horrible spot right now.

Ah yes, please show me those hundreds of week 1 logs.
I just skimmed through the logs from the 30th of August to the 6th of September that actually cleared phase 1, not P8S but just the door boss, and I have yet to find one with RPR, MCH, RDM, PLD and WAR.

Sure you get maybe 1 underperforming job like paladin in a group, but then everything else is SAM, BLM, DRG, DNC.

Even those that have paladin or warrior listed as their group's tanks, when you check the log it shows that they switched to dark knight and gunbreaker for their phase 1 clear.
