    I concur. I would love to see more substantial MCH buffs in 6.3 to both single-target and AOE. Maybe Hypercharge will finally go to 5 charges over 15 to 20 seconds, just like DRK's Blood Weapon, perhaps?

    Mechanical changes tend to come out on major patches, so we'll see what they tell us in the 6.3 Live Letters.

    Today with 6.28 was just a start, but it was a fine start.

    I disagree that it was a "fine start". The goal of the patch was to reduce the range tax, but it is pretty clear by dancer receiving no buffs it was an "in role" balance patch.

    Machinist will never be not terrible unless the range tax dies, otherwise the most supportive job in the role will always have the massively higher damage cap. Unless the "we are intentionally making ranged jobs bad" paradigm dies, MCH will unavoidably be the worst job in the game in perpetuity.

    I didn’t think 6.28 was supposed to be the dissolution for range tax. I considered 6.3 maybe but who knows the Devs may wait till 7.0 with job altering and reworks about.

    gameplay doesn't change, animations are still stuck in heavensward

    almost there but not quite still. think any sane person would still be playing bard or dancer

    We may need more time for more data.
    Currently MCH is higher in some content but lower on other.
    It might be due to player performance variance.

    The gap between ranged vs melee is too much still, Ranged jobs need a lot more i think the other casters (that aren't blm) could do with some more too.
    I really don't think this addressed the ranged "tax" issue theirs still a clear massive tax for being a ranged, when the difference should be generally a lot smaller then it is.

    Arguably BLM is in a spot where they should be with the melees, I think it's still considerably harder for BLM to perform compared to melees so personally I believe it should be slightly ahead.
    Machinist still could do with more like the other ranged jobs, I think mch should have the 3rd highest personal DPS in the game.

    You aren't going to use your "flex slot" aka the 4th one that doesn't give out buffs for anything other then a melee still (maybe a BLM but that also means its going to be harder on the party) and I think that's the biggest issue, Ranged/casters should be more considered for the "flex slot" as well, the percent buff is a good idea with balancing things because its a nice failsafe if a job type becomes redundant but I don't think we should have jobs value be bringing the "1% buff" only. Currently you only bring any phys ranged because you get a bonus 1% buff, a lot groups likely wouldn't run phys ranged if that wasn't the case.

    by definition yeah that's substantial. good job stating the obvious? nobody's bending an insanely specific comp to maybe eek out machinist as ever being worth bringing over dancer but at least it's a start
