is a very good way to protect your account they can't hack it if they don't have your otp password it can not be taken from your system because it is not connected to your system.

I actually fell for it right then. I never use the forums so didn't think it was suspicious I was not logged in when I hit the reply to thread button. FYI it looks exactly like this page does right now.
It wasn't until I tried searching for it manually and saw this thread, followed by an email "OTP token removed from your account" that I was like, ah shit. Then rapidly traversing the labrynthine maze of Square Enix/Final Fantasy websites to change my password and reactivate OTP.
Their scam typically asks for your OTP as well, so it won't probably won't protect people who are gullible enough to follow the link in the first place.
I guess their scam has been evolving a lot because originally following the link would take you directly to a phony log-in page as opposed to imitating an actual forum post first.I actually fell for it right then. If something sounds too good to be true, it's usually some sort of scam.
That being said, it would be good to get the word out there to prevent more people from falling for this particular scam seeing that it has been around for a while and SE has yet to find a way to shut it down effectively.
Hate to bump, but this scam is still going on. I just got nailed by it. I only twigged when the link had just a couple of weird extra letters in there, which for a moment I thought meant the "top" of the forum (FH.top was right after forum.square-enix).
Bugger. Well, at least I have OTP enabled and it's a unique password. I can change that quick enough.
Yeah, it took me to a forum post which seemed perfectly legit, other than the few letters in the address I mentioned. Unfortunately for me I didn't notice that until it was too late.Their scam typically asks for your OTP as well, so it won't probably won't protect people who are gullible enough to follow the link in the first place.
