I have started to notice there is this huge sludge that grew over time with each expansion, their timetable and the way these developers do things seem like either this is a budget problem, technical software knowledge problem or both.

It just weirds me out when compared to other MMOs that most MMOs would try to make sure older content is completed and within a good timely manner, but the FFXIV devs. either take way too long to address issues or not at all. If I needed a example of something is wrong with this picture was the deal with the currently not unlocked ranks in the Grand Companies, they had years to get this finished up but instead they chased after the flash and spectacle.

Is it really Yoshi P and his gang calling the shots, and is there people over them making these calls or is it the problems listed above?

I feel like they're not telling us something because things are not adding up.

This concerns me too. The player-base did increase since shadowbringers, but we are moving very very slowly and whenever we get something we asked for we get it half-done or rushed. Or…completely out of the blue dropped in the story with no past references.

They might have a budget issue but with so many players Id think they could also have the means to improve the game?

The only thing I can think about is that they use sub money to pay for their other upcoming games.

I thought Yoshi wanted to leave somewhen before shadowbringers or endwalker iirc so it could easily be that this is just not his main focus anymore and can’t split himself in two places at once.

The Squadron system was really cool. I wonder what happened to that system...

It birthed the Trust system and then got abandoned. Along with the unused Grand Company rank, the fact Squadrons can't go past the trial version of FF14 or how the latest two races aren't featured at all...

I think they plan to increase and Update GCs
But of course I cant explain why they have such long cycles. All those left-over ranks gotta have a future purpose.

Obviously. If anything i'm shocked anyone still remember or even cares about the Squad system. I'll still say it, the squad system was miles better than the trust downgrade we got. :/

Or do you just like dressing up your companions, directly ordering them, and like having around characters that ARNT the Scions?
Not a slight or anything, genuinely curious. I think both are good personally

:P The mere fact you can directly order them is already in itself a MASSIVE gain. Because while it's cute to see interactions and the Scions expressing themselves in combat, some stuff is just a detriment. Particularly Alisaie, calm down with that LB. Sure, it's endearing, but I'm not always going for endearing, I'm going for "I want to play my darn game, let me clear the content in my darn game". I'd like to tell them when to LB, like a team leader would. Or, you know, force them to AoE the mobs down, for Gunnhildr's sake...

Squadrons are great because they'll AoE the heck out of the mobs. Nothing like seeing your Squadron Arcanist pop down a Shadow Flare while your Archer goes ham and watching the mobs melt in seconds.
