Nope, counter criticism is perfectly fine, however going agaisnt op every single time and denying their point by immediately calling it "bait", derailing and trolling their thread is not ok in any way. If you want to counter criticism, by all means.



To be entirely fair when I see people telling me it's okay to not have any decent preview options in the character creation screen and that "people should make some effort and create alt characters for every voice they want or youtube it" yet a fantasia is sold at full price, and its not cheap, it really makes me question to what extent people are ready to defend everything Square does, and it does make me want to block these people too, because they have no common sense.

And yet, I have not posted in either of those threads. So.....


I don't think fantasia pots are expensive, but I also don't think there's any reason not to have better previews on character creation. It likely comes down to tech limitations in their engine, but I'm not going to say no if they can add it

Honestly? I would prefer if people on both sides of the aisle stop holding what Yoshi says or does in such a high regard. It's going to bite you sooner or later.

The dude took a small excerpt from an interview and neglected to read the personal account -- Neglecting the very fact many of these developers do have full-time jobs and do test this content as part of said job, and equally have lives outside of the game, you cannot get much more low quality, really. They keyword in this excerpt was personal account

Not saying you have, but I can definitely understand why op wouldnt take anyone in defense of Square seriously, WoW went down that route, and it went bad, people kept defending over and over again the worst decisions, be it content wise, balance etc, and people are doing the exact same in this game, because of people like that, games are doomed to fail as any sort of criticism is immediately rejected by the community as bait or trolling.

It does matter if he plays the content he made on his personal account, because if the content itself was enjoyable, he would have done it by now.

The relationship a lot of posters seem to have with me runs in a one-way direction.

Regardless, Island Sanctuary was lackluster content that amounts to little more than clicking things and, oh wait actually it isn't an area to afk in because it boots you out after 30 minutes. Whether by way of lack of resources, dev time, or all around neglect, this and other aspects of the game are suffering under these later years of Yoshi's tenure.

For the game's sake he should hope that Criterion Dungeons aren't yet another flop, though with nothing except the minnie mouse mount teased for it and the dungeon itself having a painfully generic appearance, there is reason to believe it won't hold on to people's attention. To say nothing of the incoming dilemma when people who don't follow this game's news that closely get surprised when they have to do Hildibrand for their relic, only to quickly grow bored of 20 Crystal Tower or Void Ark runs as opposed to Bozja offering both zone-based and duty-based progression.

The problem is, and again, this has been stated numerous times when it comes to aveyond, he states his opinion as objective fact instead of objective opinion, and states that the majority agree with him without any kind of statistics to back this up.

In this very thread he states the game is hemorrhaging players at a rapid pace. Where did he get that info? I haven't seen any indication that this is true.

It kills me that one of the top comments for the video you linked is: "Given that YoshiP is in the 95th percentile of Black Mage parses on savage content, I think it's safe to say he plays it" and a reply to that is: "He became lead of the dev team just so he could be as close to the servers as possible for optimum latency."

Reading 90% of these threads is bizarre. Most of them are discussions that go in circles, never get anywhere and nothing good really comes out of them.

This wording in the article is what I found interesting as well. I'd assume that the head dev would have probably at least run around a little bit on the island using test accounts, so to say "he didn't play it" is a bit inaccurate. However, the fact that he can't name a single thing that he likes about it is ... sad, and somewhat telling, in my opinion. It reminds me of cooking simulator on steam. I've clocked about 20 minutes into that game. I've played it. But if you asked me what my favorite part about it was, I wouldn't be able to give you a straight answer because even though I technically objectively played it, I never really sank my teeth into it or anything.

People who were disappointed with island sanctuary might look at this article and feel... something. I didn't expect it to be good because I'm a pessimistic asshole, but I also don't expect Yoshi to personally nolife everything this game has to offer. To me, this news isn't infuriating or anything. But I think some people who were craving island sanctuary and were then let down by it, are definitely going to look at this article and feel like maybe island sanctuary could've gotten the blm treatment if yoshi had actually sank his teeth into it and played it more. Whether or not that's an accurate assessment, no one can say. But it is what it is.

I love threads like these and really don't see why people get so pissed about them. Every time this guy with the car signature makes a thread criticizing the game, people come out mad as hell at him and calling him a troll, like he just personally spat on their grandmother. Personally, I don't feel trolled. But I also don't pretend that gaming studios are my friends, so.
