Basically this. As far as I'm concerned Yoshi's preferences are hurting anyone who isn't aligned with them by way of neglect. The lengths and arguments people have spun in defense of it will never cease to amaze.Makes me think back to how he played his favorite class in pvp before making adjustments to it.
On one hand, sure, you can't expect a singular dev to play test every piece of content they create or oversee. There will be a bias, regardless. The issue though, is that it almost seems as if Yoshi P isn't interested in it personally, he won't try it out, even when it's his own game. It's a bad look. You want developers to be interested in their own content. If a dev isn't enthusiastic about their own works, then how can you expect anyone else to be?
And of course there's the minor bias towards content as well. Everyone has preferences, it's just Yoshi P's preferences tend to be rather strong and unchecked.
