This "mysterious content" btw is called Savage, its been a mainstay content type since ARR and can take casual groups months to clear. Its content Yoshi P is proven to play on his offtime and given his history probably the content type he enjoys most.

You undermine your own point by jumping at every shadow, my guy. But by all means keep jumping; maybe you're right and Yoshi really is crashing the brand into the dirt.

To add to the above: there's also the Critereon dungeons.

He's also working on FFXVI. So even if he wasn't waiting for Critereon dungeons to launch and he is ready to jump into Island Sanctuary on his personal account, he may have to deal with FFXVI game things instead and not be able to do so.

On one hand, sure, you can't expect a singular dev to play test every piece of content they create or oversee. There will be a bias, regardless. The issue though, is that it almost seems as if Yoshi P isn't interested in it personally, he won't try it out, even when it's his own game. It's a bad look. You want developers to be interested in their own content. If a dev isn't enthusiastic about their own works, then how can you expect anyone else to be?

And of course there's the minor bias towards content as well. Everyone has preferences, it's just Yoshi P's preferences tend to be rather strong and unchecked.

Yoshi-P played through Island Sanctuary live on stream. So if we need some sort of proof that he has done it we have video evidence. He said he hasn't done it on his personal account not that he hasn't done it at all.

In case it's not obvious why he hasn't done it on his personal account, he is an obviously busy guy managing the entire development and operation of the game. Let's not forget he has his own health and family to manage as well.

Yoshi-P sees his own experience as a reflection of the experience of most people and he's right. He is a busy person who only has time to play FFXIV in a casual way on his personal account and so are most other working people, so by designing an MMO that works for him he designs one that works for other people who have limited time to play because of work.

And if you have a lot of time he creates crazy grinds like the hunt mounts, the firmament mount, the fate mount and extreme trial mounts.

And yet the entire caster role is the one closest to the chopping block in current savage balance, with BLM having been in a weird position ever since verraise was introduced 6 years ago. Hmm...

Yes because he must exhaust the content ASAP for it to be considered a success or indicative of positive reception. He does not, nor should he need to do this.

Simply put, his interests and priorities could lay elsewhere. Doesn't mean the particular content is a failure.

You do realize as part of the testing and validating he has most likely played this content more than the vast majority of players that actually like the content.

There are bad takes, and this thread absolutely takes the cake about it -- Spoon and all.
