I don't doubt that in the least. Just look when IS came out. The usual crew making multiple threads about everything they found "wrong" with it. One thread was made by someone who enjoyed it talking about what they liked. And within the first few comments were several of the echo chamber cabal either straight-up attacking the OP or making passive-aggressive remarks like "I loved how I was able to no-life it for a day and now there's nothing to do." If anyone made a thread here talking about how they enjoy something in FFXIV, they'd doubtless be attacked for it. Heck, it happens practically anytime someone makes a post about something they like in juxtaposition to a post about something someone doesn't like...

You seriously overestimate the amount of people in this very thread here that would actually go into an "I like how healers currently are" thread. Which is what IkaraGreydancer was talking about in their post saying that the very people "supporting" this thread would go into a thread about healers.

I don't think anyone even needs to go into a "healers good" thread. There are enough enraged healers about that it'll get flooded long before anyone from in here (potentially excepting people that legitimately main healer, of course) even gets a look at it.

For the hairstyles it really sucks for those race players i totally agree, yesterday i created a hrothgar and well it's plenty nothing, but maybe we get with the graphic updates more styles but we can't really know that. Maybe they're in trouble for fem Hrothgars and wait for those updates now to get that fixed aswell, but just my speculation.

Additional egi glamours... hmmm now Summoner got a whole rework and that's why they didn't implement more, but didn't see or can't remember he told us that we get addional egi glams, cause of the whole rework.

Guess for the Arc ending, for me it was really epic, but you could tell me what wasn't epic, early Mr. Z.?

Anyone who has seen how beast races work in other games knows that they can have more than a mere two hairstyles per face by default – this isn’t something that players should have had to wait for fixes for, they should have released in the proper state from the beginning. Time will tell what happens with female Hrothgar, but the graphics update has more to do with texture upgrades than significant changes to 3d models or character creation.

As for Egi Glamours, after their initial release there was total silence for the better part of a decade until the class reached its breaking point in Shadowbringers with too many people angry at it for different reasons, culminating in a rework. That still has us summoning the same 3 fire/wind/earth primals with a toolkit more reduced than a level 20 FFXI SMN who by that point can summon most of that game’s pantheon. They didn’t “listen” until the problem was too big to ignore. Much like with the Viera/Hrothgar situation.

I’m not about to recount all the issues that 6.0 had – anyone whose interested in that discussion knows where to look in threads dedicated to that purpose. As of now there is no widely available private Housing, apartments do not satisfy those who want more than a room to decorate and especially not anyone who wants to be able to customize the outdoors to their liking in the biome of their choice – features that are currently absent from Island Sanctuary with no definite timeline as to when outdoor furnishing placement will be added as per the latest Live Letter. It’s a state of affairs so bad that adding the lottery was an improvement, at least until “The Winning Number is 0!” showed up on people’s screens. People who have excesses of gil to buy smalls 3 times over still can’t get a guaranteed home – with actual housing still being superior to Island Sanctuary in many aspects.

Here is my two sense.

I am not a "supporter" of this thread, going on 400 posts now and I've posted twice. I main healer because I like helping people, have a few ideas how current FFXIV healer fix might improve but frankly healer threads don't interest me.

I'd be as active on one as I'm here. Barely at all. This victim mentality and "everyone against me is supporting my rivals" nonsense really isn't all that charming, to be perfectly honest.

I haven't read through everything on this long thread, but I did see this touched upon. Sometimes in software engineering when you see the nuts and bolts of something and get it working, you don't really want to partake of the finished product. You need a break from it. So it's possible he wants to go to it when he's had a break and can enjoy it like a user and not a developer.

He's also a very busy man. He may just not have time. And there's also the possibility that this isn't content that interests him much, but just because something doesn't personally interest a developer doesn't mean they can't go into the development intending to make it good. I certainly am not personally interested in every single thing I code, but I go into the project intending to code it well and make it something the user will be happy with. If it's not his personal cup of tea, then I would think he relied on others who do enjoy this content for design advice and feedback.

And finally, the idea of the lead developer partaking of what he wants on his personal account and not engaging as much with something that may not be to his interests fits entirely in the way he encourages the players to experience the game and do the content they find the most enjoyable.
