Fair enough. Its not how I see it though. I mean, one of the nurses in the team I work for is always working extra hours, usually unpaid, out of her commitment to the work she does and the patients on her caseload. I don't worship her either, but again - that doesn't mean I can't/don't admire her commitment.

I don't think you really know what devs doing their own thing looks like outside of WoW. If you think Yoshida is bad you should have seen how the XI team was before Tanaka and those that left him to start on XIV treated their playerbase. They fought with them. Even when the playerbase did the maths on something and only wanted to get the devs to say yes, good for you that's how that system works. There was a constant fight over how XI's Ninja was to be played while he was there. We got about 6 months if having the job be buffed in favor of how the playerbase played it before they went and not only reversed it but also moving it further in the direction the devs wanted it to be taken.

Even the small number of fan fests XI had might as well have not even happened as it was just an icey reception when it came to any interaction with those devs. Heck I'm sure you can find videos and see how cold and standoffish the devs are. They all looked like they were wondering why they had to be there. Even the WoW devs have in the past been able to hide any contempt they might have for their game's players better than the old XI devs.

Imagine if the entire playerbase treated the Balance Discord or any other place that's put in the work to figure out how something is in the game should work as equal footing to the devs saying it and you have just a glimpse of how XI was. I might not agree with or like some things Yoshida and the rest have done, but I haven't ever once felt the way the old XI devs made an entire playerbase feel from them.

So no, I don't worship YoshiP - but regardless of his changing attitude and approach he hasn't reached the point where, like that other game, he's trying strip-mine as much revenue from the playerbase as possible, with no regard to sustainability, burnout, or player feedback, before moving on like a locust to find another game to ruin

Just because this extreme scenario isn't happening, it does not negate the existence of the former problem suggested by that poster.

I realise that - I was more talking 'worst case scenario' than anything else, since it can happen and certainly, in terms of the game I was referring to a few posts back, it DID happen.

Probably the weirdest thing Ive experienced on these Forums, is that both Positive Threads Praising what they like, and Negative Threads Criticizing The game, both devolve very quickly into "us, vs them" threads.

Or how Everyone in a Criticism Thread has this attitude of, anybody who disagrees with me is a White Knight Zealot that Worships the ground YoshiP walks on. And they are trying to silence criticism.
Its weird how only one mindset is allowed. People are apparently just suppose to agree.

That's how this forum has evolved. I miss the days when you'd have to write a thesis paper to explain your position while making sure you didn't forget anything cause someone will rake you over the coals and hound you for forever and a day about the smallest miniscule of a detail about a thing you forgot to include. Now most of the time even if you state that you might not enjoy a small aspect about something or a character it will be ignored by the fact you said you enjoyed said thing or character. Or the opposite if you didn't like it/them.

Then there are those who state they might disagree with a point or points about something someone has brought up but almost never show that they do. They only take umbrage with how others are disagreeing with someone else. Which I'm sure is how the dog piling people into a group comes to be. And when such behavior starts to make a pattern some act surprised that others have noticed it and get defensive about it. Not to say that any side is free of said behavior or that no amount of bias doesn't play into such. Course the days where you had to write thesis papers are part of why I chose to dip out of the general section and even now don't engage as much.

Heck I don't even dislike the OP or even some of the others I disagree with. I just have a problem with how they word things. Which to some will get labeled as some form of thought and or forum policing or trying to silence voices or white knighting. Course I also got older and learned not to try and be as up in arms about everything or get goaded into debating about.

Might be yeah, but i close the forum and all is gone, but seems like ppl living here and don't enjoy the game anyways, that makes me really sad.

Also don't wanna judge ppl i don't really know, i know the game got some issues but they're holding their promises and don't cancel content like other Companies

I have parts of the game that I enjoy and parts I don't. As for whether they're keeping their promises... excuse me for a moment, my sides are starting to hurt from laughter.

Zanarkand. Genuine question. Do you WANT to be a victim of something? I ask because it really seems like you're desperate to be the victim of some supposed labeling or whatever. I can't speak for experiences you've had with other posters where I wasn't present, but from what I've seen of you, you nearly always throw yourself into the midst of everything, assume that everyone is talking about you when they clearly aren't, and then claim that you're being lumped into a group you don't belong in. Maybe you actually have been falsely accused of something in another thread, but at this point it's the Zanarkand that cried wolf situation. Additional unique Viera/Hrothgar hairstyles, additional egi-glamours, and an epic conclusion to the Hydaelyn/Zodiark saga. Not to mention that we were told we were never getting private housing and we did. (Not that I have a problem with that particular one)

EDIT: Actually, weren't we promised that we wouldn't need to keep a sub up to keep our houses? Sure, the housing demo is off right now because of the Ukraine, but what happened to not needed a sub?

I really dont rofl. But if Im disagreeing with aveyond, or whoever who posts something, then somebody makes a vague jab or comment at people disagreeing with Aveyond, its not farfetched to think Im apart of that. Or the mentioned accusation in another thread about having double standards.
But also I need to ask...what am I the Victim of in this instance?

Because Im just talking about threads become "us vs them" And how there are alot of instances where people just get labeled for disagreeing.
