I think more than a level squish they need to seriously reconsider when skills are given at what level

Why do 5 classes have no AOE at level 40, why does WHM not get its class gimmick until 74, why does SCH lose abilities upon changing to SCH, why does DRG’s rotation not fill itself out till about 76, why does RDM have no AOE gauge spender at level 50, why does DRK not get TBN till level 70 the list goes on and on

Fix when skills are actually obtained by classes and I think a level squish becomes kinda unneeded

Every single job should have a basic AoE by level 15. All of them, healers included.

Veteran healers don't care if we need to heal, but right now we don't. We want interesting things to do during the downtime other than a 30s dot and a single filler spell that hasn't changed from lvl 4 to lvl 90.
Dead DPS do no DPS. Raised DPS do 25/50% lower DPS. Do the mechanics and don't stand in bad stuff.
Other games expect basic competence, FFXIV is pleasantly surprised by it. Other games have toxic elitism. FFXIV has toxic casualism.[/LIST]

The way this game is going, I wouldn't be surprised if they do that. It would just be the further push towards homogenous jobs. Many jobs have the same feel, especially pre-50. And we got to this point because it used to be that physical jobs were kings of single target DPS and mages were kings of AOE DPS. Melee would struggle in dungeon trash pulls since their TP would limit them. Mages would do "less" DPS than many physical jobs on the bosses. While this might have been somewhat balanced in dungeon content, it wouldn't work so much in savage content (where everyone gauges balance). So, they wound up taking away TP and giving everyone AOEs - adding chain bonuses for them, etc etc.

The next obvious step is make sure everyone is granted similar abilities at similar levels. Soon DoW/DoM will be just like DoH jobs. Different skin, different abilities names, but same ability functions.

havinga aoe at level 15 would disrupt the learning curve for new players as tanks

If you're going to make a statement, at least attempt to be accurate. Every single tank has an aoe before 15, DPS having an AoE wouldn't hurt tanks.

Paladins get theirs at lvl 6 (Eclipse)
Warriors get theirs at lvl 10 (Overpower)
Dark Knights get theirs at lvl 6 (Unleash)
Gunbreakers get theirs at lvl 10 (Demon Slice)
