Oh yeah I think that level ceiling would be too much for a game that encourages playing all jobs. Having newcomers see such a high cap would be so discouraging (and prompt them to buy job skips...oh dear, I can see where this can go).

I rather have them stop at lv.99 like in FFXI and introduce some sort of secondary progression system that. The old school rpg enthusiast in me would like to bring back a point allocation system.

They should improve or innovate the current system instead of keep adding level or new class.
I would like to see more dynamic stuff in the game.
People just come into the game and ask what is the best stat for a particular class. And, the answer is just simply "offensive properties".
I like how in ARR we can allocate our attributes based on different fights.
Most importantly, please fix tenacity and piety..... I really do not understand why SE didnt spend some time to fix that, create some stat that no one want to use at all....

They can buy themselves about 4 years if they make 7.0 have a level cap of 95 and then 8.0 with a cap of 100. All they would do is figure out how much exp/level for what 90-92, and make that the tnl for 90-91. Rinse and repeat for all other levels.

Personally, level is just a number. iLvl is increasing about 130 per expansion. While that is just a number was well, eventually we'll be creeping into iLvl of 1000+. I don't know if that will be seen as a problem or not.

I think they need a character level squish, damage/hp squish, item level squish and just squish squish squish. I think they need to streamline and rethink how and when job skills are assigned with emphasis on the experience of leveling alt jobs.

I don't see the point in a level squish. If it is because it seems like alot of levels, well, you still have to get through the MSQ, which levels you to max on it's own, so that really isn't an issue. When taking this into account, you would also level slower to keep the same rate of progress. That really hasn't solved anything.

If it is to do with stats, then level is essentially irrelevant for that as well. Just change how many stat points one level gives and then they are naturally reduced. The game even treats 1-50, 50-60, 60-70 etc. as different level curves as seen with the EW stat squish. ARR was kept the same, 50-80 was condensed and 80-90 was the same as any other expansion in terms of growth.

The same arguments can be used for ilevel. ilevel is just a number, you can just change how stats increase with each ilevel. This however comes with another consequence. If gear doesn't increase stats enough, then gearing up becomes less and less important. By that I mean gear isn't going to help when clearing fights and it could be a detriment, depending on how you view it.

In the end, there is no reason to do a level squish, or a severe stat squish, especially in recent content as, at the end of the day, it serves no purpose.
