You should join The Balance discord and compare your skill speed to the necessary looping chart.
The issue you are having on SAM is likely unrelated to the 2 minute meta and existed in Shadowbringers. At BiS skill speeds you can eat an ice sticker in non-2minute cycles to make sure your "dot cycles" always are exactly a minute long.
The two-minute burst design is really not fun, especially when mechanics are stacked at those points, because it means your overall performance is dictated by how well you can perform your (roughly) 15-second burst instead of how well you can learn the fight. And if the timing gets off, there's no chance to recover it. If you die at 1:50, you're screwed for the rest of the fight. Conversely, you can die to mechanics right after a buff window, get rezzed, and be ready for the next alignment. I would really prefer to see raid buffs revert to a more staggered system, where aligning them is a feat of planning and optimization instead of being mandatory.
I want the 2min window and the extremely high potency skills to go.
This game's gameplay because more and more rigid to the point sustained class will loose their identity to fit that window.
That's not what I want. That's not what is fun.
30s 60s 90s 120s 180s.
Smaller burst in between and bigger burst on 0 - 6...
a Direct Hit Crit Ahk Morn is like 82k for me while a standard hit is like 39k. Now, when this situation occurs with a 100% damage buff... It's part of the RNG. It simply sucks SE isn't innovative enough and they changed accuracy to be a second RNG stat.
Isn't it frustrating to hit for 40k normally but 82k on a super crit?
Imagine hitting a super crit on a Astral impulse instead of your Ahk Morn/Deathflare.
