They brought his disenchanted self back at the finale of the Shadowlands story with Sylvanas putting the blame on everything on him before he faded away forever.
Lol, I don't think even if XIV hits rock bottom with job design, story and/or gameplay it could be as bad as BfA was.
Now, the similarity with WoW that I might foresee for the future is some sort of brief time skip where the world will be changed as a whole - not necessarily a Cataclysm, but maybe something like 5 years?

Except I'm being serious. I feel like this game veered so far off into a direction it should not have gone in starting in 6.0 or arguably 5.4 when they had the first uwu catboy moment. They're taking in feedback from people who aren't normally into MMORPGs or Final Fantasy games in general, and now we have to deal with a playerbase that thinks it's ok for them to keep making mistake after mistake in all things ranging from content to writing. Especially blunders that some have justified with the "promise" that it'll be fixed or improve later.
Enough is enough. Content should release in a proper state from the beginning, and they need to figure out what direction this ship is sailing in when it comes to the story, since as far as I'm concerned 7.0 is no longer an automatic buy for me. I would love it if some of these influencers would actually call some of these issues out instead of defending the status quo at every turn or reacting to reaction videos in a strange feedback loop. This isn't conducive to anything good, but at least I can sleep easy at night knowing that I'm not the problem here and that if things keep getting worse I'll be remembered as one of the few people who actually tried to speak out when hardly anyone else did.

There he goes again insisting longtime FF or MMO players MUST dislike this games direction.Except I'm being serious. Aveyond was such a big fan he didn't even join the forums until 2021.

Aveyond loves to always talk as if he speaks for the entire community.

Mate, to be blunt, I have always had problems with your hot takes, but this? This combined with a story that flew off the rails and has no direction anymore has left FFXIV in the worst state it’s been in since, arguably, 1.0.
Current game worse than 1.0???
Really?? REALLY???
No he isnt, and Ive been slammed for saying what you just did.Neither you nor jojoya are anyone's spokesperson. Please get a grip.

Speaking of WoW...I miss the city raids and Wintergrasp. It was always amazing when someone got ganked in Ashenvale and so two people answer to gank the ganker...and then more people arrive for both sides and then a huge battle just starts...
Good Times.
A full PvP zone for 14 would be the only thing to make me interested in PvP...even if the PvP is kinda broken and some classes just clearly outclass others.

I was once in a group raiding Stormwind, and we decided to just camp out in one of the banks and see how long we could hold it. With warlocks summoning in reinforcements, healers keeping everyone topped up, hunters and death knights sending their pets out after people just for the hell of it. We kept it for over an hour before they finally mustered enough people to push us out. It was great.

Right? It was fantastic cause you actually felt like a force to be reckoned with. I remember doing the Alliance version of For the Horde ( Hey I liked the racial Shadowmeld too much to pass it up ) and while we were doing our version...Alliance gets in in their head to raid our cities at the same time. So we stop in the middle of ours and we post up in Ironforge and we all hang close to the walls or pile behind the throne. As soon as the horde ran in we just nuked them with aoes like crazy. We wiped them twice and then proceeded to finish up our own raid.I was once in a group raiding Stormwind, and we decided to just camp out in one of the banks and see how long we could hold it. We ended it on Thunderbluff and then just...stuck around. People would watch us but not engage. Most of us left but there was like a good 20 or so just waiting for the zeppelin when a lone Shaman kinda just RP walks up to us...and then proceeds to use an ability that pushed most of us off the cliff and wipe us. It was amazing. I hope that guy never forgets what a boss he was.
