Np! The Mithra seem like the perfect result. If my memory is correct, the Mithra minion you can get from Eureka tells us that the Miqo'te are descendants of them. At least whatever the XIV version of the Mithra could be. Maybe the Miqo'te and Hrothgar share a common ancestor in the Mithra and when they diverged into their own races, they each took on a dominate quality that the Mithra possessed.

Since we still have a connection to Elpis, I don't see why we wouldn't delve into the other parts of Ethyris' unsundered past.

That reminds me of how the Replicants were created in the Nier series. Currently going through the rest of Pandemonium's story, but the Ancients transferring a part of their soul and memory into the new races that came about or concepts in case they were forced to sacrifice themselves to Zodiark would be something interesting.

I'm fine with them exploring the past in a raid, but I have no interesting in continually traveling back to the past in the main story quest. We've done that, it..sort of worked, let's move on.

I was always fascinated with creation myths in game, so i really want to know more, especially considering how vague this part of the lore is.

But you're right, it doesn't really have a place in the MSQ, at least not for a long while.
I hope we'll touch on this again though. Maybe a sidequests chain or a variant dungeons (if they really delve into the lore).

The art & intro videos always make me laugh due to how inaccurate they were. That particular mithra face really isn't that bad in game (I'd even say it's pretty cute), while my Elvaan, who I chose based on the picture in the guide-book, was definitely not something I wanted to play long term (but I did....as this was my first MMO and I didn't realize you could simply delete and remake a character...). lol.
