i dont understand why people would want to own so many houses, half the time i dont even remember to login to water my plants and i only own 1 house, cant imagine trying to water 20 houses every day

It's typically RMT, via Discord. I've had a house since it was released, so I shouldn't give a damn but I do. Ward housing has failed, imo SE should expand on IS and make the cabin there fully customizable. I'm not sure if it's possibly but if so it would go a long way to easing housing demand.

Considering when IS launched people were complaining about being unable to load into their houses, the IS are instances on the housing server.. so SE could do instance houses but have chosen not to do so.. probably to keep that sub-money from demo timer when it resumes

I fully expected this to happen when they released Empyreum. So about two weeks before housing dropped, we were informed that bidding FC members had to be 30 days old with the FC. So while that meant that the first lottery was mostly legit FCs, every lottery after that would be littered with shell FCs that did the grinding necessary to level multiple shell FCs to the proper rank to buy up other houses in the wards. This was all made possible by the fact that SE set the bar too low for FCs to buy coupled with SE allowed the first 18 wards to be FC only when these wards were released.

The first round of housing was broken due to the winner is 0 bug. Those that made the shell FCs had plenty of time to jump into the first actual round of houses

Many who are making solo FC's are doing nothing more than buying FC housing as a personal they're not buying up entire wards. This is certainly the fault of SE for creating the incentive for people to do so with their ridiculous FC/Private split on the new housing wards. They do give up their right to join a legitimate FC however so it's not necessarily a win/win situation.

In addition there are those of us who create small personal FC's to be able to share a house with our alts (and in my case a few select friends) given the inane decision to not allow alts the right to use a mains house.

This was happening (in a different way) for a few months on Faerie, Kugane, Ward 1, Plot 12.

For at least 8 consecutive lottery cycles, (those were as long as I was entering for that house, it could've been going on much long idk) some shell or troll FC consistently won the plot and purposely did NOT claim it. This rolls it over to the next one of course.

One I could maybe understand if an FC won and the entrant just had some fluke IRL emergency that took them away from the game and not be able to claim it.

For this to go on for 8 cycles means they were either intentionally griefing players for the lolz, or much more likely offering it on Discord for gil or RMT real money.

The chances of 8 separate legit FC's all having their bidders all having some fluke emergency that none of them could claim their plot each time, let's just say the odds are astronomical against that, like trees and grass suddenly evolving on the Moon tomorrow.

I was bidding on it too of course for my very small FC, it'd be nice to have but not stressing it. Presumably other regular FC's were bidding too, someone finally claimed it last cycle, so either they got lucky and won legit or gave in and paid the greifers on Discord. Really don't care either way.

Didn't file a report because what could it really say? Yeah it's sketchy AF and suspicious, and a really nasty thing to do to fellow players, but certainly I can't prove any rules were broken.
