You can apply this mindset to any content in the game.

This is because battle content, by its very nature, can fallback on gameplay interaction. You have to play your job and react to the environment in the moment even if it's the same loop every time. Something like Island Sanctuary doesn't have such a luxury since your interactions are limited to what are essentially spread sheets. Gathering more Island Stones won't change the gameplay loop.

Savage, in particular, keeps itself alive due to a certain website which appeals to a good portion of its target audience. Once you've collected all the rewards from Island Sanctuary. There's nothing to keep you going back. This isn't unique to that content either. A lot of casual content suffers in this regard. FFXIV as a whole has always struggled with longevity. You either have to like a large amount of everything or you'll run out of things to do.

I feel like the "white knight" label gets thrown as soon as anyone says they like any part of the game. In a discussion on the story I might get labelled a white knight, but here I am quite frustrated with other aspects of the game. People have to be able to give positive feedback as well as negative.

You do have to admit that the reason the term white knight gets throw around so much is exactly because there are a lot of people willing to ignore issues in the game and decry anyone who dares to bring up issues with said game. I never said anything about speed or parse runs. Even people below that tier still look to shoot for numbers. They simply don't care to the extent the parse groups do. Either way, it's what keeps Savage alive.

And you're vastly overestimating how many people sell content if you think there are more sale groups than parse groups.

If everything is overdone and an endless grind so that those hardcore grinders have months of content, it will become impossible to complete for those that are only playing the game for a few hours a week. And those probably are the bigger group of players in the game.

This is side content. One of the many side activities in this game. If it takes too long to do it then people will either drop it or not try out other content. Now at least you can get everything you want in a reasonable amount of time and wont be forced to still do it when for example the relic releases.

I am also max rank and I also got the motorcycle. I play it less than I did at the start but I still visit it everytime I log in. Sometimes I will just simply relax there and chat a bit with friends. Other times I just do the necessary tasks and then do some old ARR relic. Its great to slowly but steadily build up my currency and I since I want a lot of the stuff there, I will have weeks left to gather it.

Honestly what would you have wanted that would have made it much better? Truthfully how many animals can you care for and how many crops can you plant until even that gets boring? The only part where it could have kept the players active for quite a long time would have been, to make it a personal housing zone.(IMO) But it was never promised to be that. We still have to look at it realistically and see that its just one side activity and not its own farming main game.
