Can this include the option to turn glows off entirely? A lot of nice-looking weapons are ruined by clouds of particle effects and glowing rings and all kinds of crap.

FWIW, as was noted, with very few exceptions, most glowy weapons do have a non-glow variant. The glowy crafted extreme weapons tend to be just... glowy, crafted versions of the weapons that drop normally from the extreme, so you can get the model for it there. Relic weapons tend to have a step prior to the glow. (Though annoyingly, the pre-glow step cannot always be dyed, while the glow step generally can.)
There are exceptions, like the raid weapons this expansion. But for the Asphodelos weapons, I'm not actually sure that visual effect counts as a 'glow' in the normal sense, at least in my book; in many cases (WHM, BLM, DRK, etc.) the visual effect is literally part of the weapon's structure.
I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.Originally Posted by Packetdancer
