I can't even model some of my forbidden glams because my issues are with differences in gender display, not job restriction. Like I'd love to use the Obsolete Android's Headband of Aiming for the cool goggles........except for female characters it really is just some boring headband? Who decided goggles were "mens wear"?? -_-

This is something I came up with really quick, but the moment I saw the new Abyssos healing chest, I knew it would be perfect for my monk.

Maybe traits and additional actions can solve the problem.

At certain milestones jobs could get a 'Fending/Maiming/Striking/etc. armor mastery' trait and a 'convert armor' action. 'Your mastery of Aiming/Scouting/Casting etc. gear allows you to convert your armour into casual wear, while still preserving its appearance.'

Changes a level 50 or below gear piece into an untradable level 1 all class glamour. Upgrades at 60, 70, 80, 90. 'Armor Mastery II' 'Armor Mastery III' etc. etc.

That should work within the current system I think. Doesn't result in the market board being cluttered up with level 1 duplicates of every jobs gear, includes all the untradable gear in the game, and allows job specific gear to be excluded by simply not including it in the 'convert armor' system.

Never understood they gave these flaming shoulders to healers instead to the monk. They would have been ideal for it.

The main issue with an idea like converting gear into level 1 all roles gear is it adds a ton of inventory to the game since, even if it's not sellable on the market, the item would likely need to be viewed as a separate item.

It adds a lot more items to the database, but I don't really see that being an issue though. While they've had tons of issues with many seemingly innocuous things in the past, they've seemingly never had any problems with just straight up adding more items.

It's not like I'd need more inventory space or anything either. Converting an item from one thing to another leaves me with the same amount of items as before.

Some of the crafting gear in this game would work really well as part of a combat glam. And even though healer and caster gear are often just recolors of each other, they sometimes dye differently.

The leftmost glam would be a SMN set going for a gem/jewel theme (assuming AF gear would still be locked, as it uses the SMN L60 AF arm piece). The center glam uses the Mineking's Work Shirt, which I think works really well for MCH. And in the DNC-themed glam on the right, you can see how the Augmented Millking's Slops actually fits nicely with Thavnairian-style gear.

    Left glam:
    • Augmented Gemkeep's Coronal (dye: millioncorn yellow)
    • Star Velvet Himation of Healing (dye: metallic sky blue)
    • Caller's Armlets
    • Southern Seas Skirt (dye: snow white)
    • Gambler's Boots (dye: soot black)
    • Iolite Earrings
    • Proto Ultima Choker (any type)
    Center glam:
    • Blue Steel (weapon)
    • Shaded Spectacles (dye: metallic gold)
    • Mineking's Work Shirt (dye: rolanberry red)
    • Boarskin Ringbands of Frost
    • Peacelover's Pantaloons (dye: ash gray)
    • Southern Seas Shoes
    • Manderville Earrings
    Right glam:
    • Replica Enchufla Recollection (weapon)
    • Moonward Veil of Scouting (dye: metallic brass)
    • Faire Joi (dye: soot black)
    • Thavnairian Armlets (dye: metallic brass)
    • Augmented Millking's Slops (dye: metallic brass)
    • Thavnairian Sandals

Quick combination of some Radiant pieces -Striking Chestpiece, Aiming Pants & Boots, Fending Gloves - IMO looks much better than the fending set does

I'm also a huge fan of the Gordian Hood of Aiming, as it goes with a lot of chestpieces and the cloth and metal parts are dyeable. Looks really good combined with the Diamond Armor of Scouting

Glamour without restrictions* is long overdue!
If you think so too, help keep the thread going!

Holy shit, I never realized that those Millking's Slops are practically a Dancer artifact set!
