why are we so really getting new hairs in ff14?

Well, back in my day, they use to give 4 new hairstyles every patch for free! Now it’s barely a new hairstyle as it’s mostly slightly modified version of a previous one and you have to work for it to get the 1 new hairstyle that will most likely be feminine. How times have changed.

But I'm genuinely curious: Do you have a long list of games that have more frequent customization additions than FF?

Now, there's plenty that have, say, more sliders for making your nose really big or small or adjusting your chin to be just perfect, sure. But they tend to stay static, have fewer hair options, and not be good at adding to them over time. In some cases not adding for years and years.

Wow's character customization kinda sucks, though they spam with new races I guess. A number of games do better in the facial sliders department. Many of the other "big MMOs," though that itself is a pretty small crowd these days, do sometimes get decent additions - Guild Wars 2 comes to mind, but they don't do it nearly as often as FF. And then BDO has unparalleled underwear customization I guess? - and then the smaller games tend to be very desolate wastelands. Some exceptions for mobile games, I suppose, if you're OK with mobile monetization and graphics.

So, please, do list the games that consistently add more hairstyles and other customization than FF14?

I don't think working for a hairstyle is all that bad. It's a nice incentive. It should be worthwhile, though. It's either not usable or straight up ugly. lol

I was curious about this and wanted to verify the claim, it seems like this was only really the case in Heavensward since ARR would only really make race-exclusive hairstyles available to other races one at a time and treat each one as a new addition.
