Fire mages are quite literally useless in Molten Core.

The class can respec. The Class is Mage. Not Fire Mage specifically.

I think overall with the specs in WoW each at different points had different uses for different situations.

But right now I think the Class balance is contingent on the encounter and the endless grind for Rep and doing dailies just turns people off the game.

Back to XIV I think the 2 minute meta is just a one size fits all combat design for PvE to fit everyone in the same box and while for some it's great for others it isn't.

Each class had multiple specs and were used for a specific role.

Obviously I was referring to spec imbalance. But even classes were pretty heavily shunned. You'd want as few Warlocks, Druids, Hunters as possible in any 40 man raid back then.

All I'm really seeing in FFXIV right now is a rushed PvE xpac because a lot of time and creativity went into PvP.

Were you there in the studio when that happened? Or are you simply speaking from atop your headcanon?

And it's good the raiders are exposing the balancing issues as they are because the 99% are just going to take a break and wait until a patch fixes the problem. But if no one criticizes these things they won't change.

I never said people couldn't criticize balance. I already agreed it needs work. RDPS need potency buffs for this tier or fights that don't cater so much to melee DPS in the next. But people are making a mountain of a mole hill this time.

Yep it says it right there. About 50/50. So not 99%.

But it would be interesting to see how many players do raids with the current active player count. I'm sure that would be telling.
