A crystal player carrying a group? Yeah ok under what circumstances... i can get the right kills with mch but if the team cant follow up, there is no winning.I'm starting to get a little triggered by all the people saying : I was a Crystal player, I made it to Crystal in S1 and S2.
No.
Making it to Crystal in S1 was not an indicator of much. Everyone was learning the mode, there were people picking it up faster than others sure, but pretty much everyone was at a low skill level. Also, with no de-ranking, anyone spamming enough games could get a lucky winstreak at some point and climb out.
Resetting everyone to Bronze was ultimately a good thing to figure out who is a Crystal player. Because a Crystal player can carry low-rank games on pretty much any class. Sure, some classes are more reliant on your teammates performance and that can be an issue sometimes.
Now, it's not all great, the high-rank queues are pretty much always dead and you always get the same 10-15 players over and over. I personally think there's enough good players, they just don't see the point of playing ranked with the current rewards structure.

True to a point but also vice versa too made it to crystal carrying but it also depends on the class if you can carry '
don't take this too heart I too agree the reset was pointless but I made it to crystal so it is possible just a b***h
Free the Glam!, Duel Pistols (Gunner)?

I agree with that last part
Depends on the job you play. Some jobs carry harder than others -- but that's because they aren't reliant on other jobs (selfish DPS). Jobs like MCH, SAM, NIN, SMN, WHM, and DRG can carry very well. They do a lot of damage and against players who aren't as skilled, you can seize those opportunities a lot easier as a Crystal tier player to carry yourself upwards. It's more difficult for BRD, PLD, and DNC, but that's mainly because they rely on the party to supplement their damage. If your party's bad, you can't really expect them to utilize the buffs correctly.
But if you're playing a selfish DPS job, you may lose some games (because some players are just uncarryable), but most of time, when everyone's skill level is the same, your skill level should make the difference. If your skill level is at Crystal, you should be able to win more games and move upwards. I'm speaking from experience after playing multiple jobs and reaching Crystal in 3 different seasons. It took me roughly 1 day to go from Bronze to Gold, another day from Gold to plat, and then another day from plat to diamond. The real struggle imo was diamond to Crystal. Everyone from Diamond 1 onwards give you a mix of Crystal players and Diamond players. They generally make a lot less mistakes, so each win is a lot more difficult when going up.
Though there's really no point in queueing up once you reach Crystal at any season. The rewards are terrible, and there's little to no incentive to continue. None of the rewards for the portraits improved other than a number for ranked CC, no mounts, no minions. It's not like there's variety for your adventure plate either. All around, disappointment as far as rewards go.
