Personaly, i want a class, who is sharing his equipment with the ninja.

Probally simply the fighter.
A one handed sword User without a shield.
Whe have allready multiple sword User. But im missing a sword user like Tidus, Lightning, maybe the one from ff12, or like the one from ff16.
The warrior and maraudore use axes. Cloud/dark knight big two hander. Zydan (ff9) is probally the thieve.
Paladin need his shield for full power.
And Samurai has his own unique sword stil (like Auron from ff10). But looks a little to stiff.

A freestyle one handed swordmen, similary to lancer, is, what whe are missing. Esspecial, when most sword user are tanks.
A fighter would even fit with the ninja equipment
