Yeah, I had this again this evening too.
I'm sure this won't work for everyone all the time, but it worked for me this evening: I went into the system tray on my PC, right-clicked on the Steam icon and chose Exit, then re-launched Steam from the desktop icon. The game let me log in after that.
Hopefully that helps a few people either this time or on one of the next dozen times this happens!![]()

Could you try the following:
o Uninstall the game and delete the installation folder. Then reinstall the game directly through the Steam Library.
o Delete or rename the "etc" folder that exists within the game's installation folder. Please also check the game folder in "My Games" as well.
Below are the default locations for the installation folder:
- Standard Windows version -
C:\Program Files (x86)\SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn
- Steam version -
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\FINAL FANTASY XIV Online

same, after flipping between options and back to lgoin portion of launcher, eventually loaded username / password and i was able to log in.. now 700+ login queue
also only experiencing this after 3 90k error after being logged on since before 1pm EST followed up by a 2002 error.
Brynhildr / Crystal - was in goblet at the time.
Warning, this is only for NA, only for NA. Something is happening in the US.
If you are from the US u probs are already back in but if you try to connect a US data center not from US (Austria, EU) you will struggle and get kicked again.
I dunno if US providers changed something or what is going on but their servers are crumbling.
a member of my FC said they thought the servers were being DDoS again, mentioned a similar problem happened last night as well
