It doesn't matter. And Yoshi P also said Paladins cannot block magic. These things change. It could be Void Mage, Geo, Ascian, Paragon, Bananathrower whatever you want to call it.
He will change his mind when it suits his whimsy.
If they can put REAPER into the game anything is possible.
It could even be a Chemist job where you throw potions at people.
I do think literally raising the dead is a line they won't cross, but there's plenty of ways to get around making Necromancer without actually making Necromancer. It doesn't matter. It could for example be something more like a Beastmaster that summons Ashkin creatures instead.
It's not high on my list of expectations but it's not impossible.
The thing people fail to realize that FF Necromancer doesn't have a lot to do with raising the dead. You are more like a Warlock that uses magic that even Black Mages wouldn't touch with a 35 foot pole. Instead of raising dead you'd just be summoning demons which with all the 13th shard and Void stuff you could feasibly make a Necromancer/Warlock kind of class by avoiding summoning dead things entirely.I do think literally raising the dead is a line they won't cross, but there's plenty of ways to get around making Necromancer without actually making Necromancer.

Now on the offchance that Yoshi P dug himself a hole and can't feasibly add another caster he can just create a new one like he did with Sage since Sage has little to do with FF3 Sage and instead is a more exciting Gundam themed class instead of a class that has mastery over Black and White Magic. I think they can come up with something.
But I do think a new caster that rivals Black Mage whatever it turns out to be needs to happen.
Realistically unless they create a new job, they only have Necromancer, Geomancer and Mystic Knight/Sorcerer to pull from.
But I don't think people would be opposed to a caster that can do stuff that Emperor Palamecia/Golbez/ExDeath/Ultimecia are capable of.
Or release the Blue Mage and let them wreak havoc.
A lot of people could suggest Time Mage but it already exists as a Oracle/Time Mage hybrid as Astrologian.

I would 100% be down for Mystic Knight! Depending on what aesthetic they were to go with it it could either be Casting (therefore butting heads with RDM, so unlikely), Maiming (for a conventional knightly look, would have to skip next expansion because we just got a Maiming Job) or Scouting (which... could work, actually, it'd complement NIN as another melee+"magic" Job). We're due both a Casting and a Scouting Job, so it could go either way!Personally I really want a spellblade enspeller Mystic Knight. Ideally as a tank, but I'd take it as DPS, too. Since RDM is more cast based, I'd like this guy to be melee focused. I want his rotation to be using Enfire, Enblizzard and Enthunder then releasing a big attack very similar to SAM Midare of combining all three elements. Honestly I'd love a copy and paste of SAM, put in Mystic Knight aesthetics instead, lower potencies and add utility.
Of course, GEO makes a lot of sense and would be awesome as well. MTK spellblade enspeller is just my favorite job in all of FF.
