    Voidsent in North Thanalan

What’s the explanation behind them being there? We’ve got the ahrimen and.. whatever it is that’s going on with Dalvag. Is there a void gate in the area? Lingering Machi influence? Is it not a connection to the 13th, but instead is a result of Bahamut’s darkness aspected aether during Cartineau?

That last one would maybe explain Dalvag, since he’s seemingly an actual Immortal Flame from the calamity who is now a voidsent. Somehow. Tho it could just be a case of ppl thinking it’s Dalvag when it isn’t. Either way, he’s presented as a lingering ghost, which seems like it was the plan for voidsent at some point but technically isn’t anymore. Tho I suppose you could make the argument that the undying, body-optional inhabitants of the 13th who can’t enter the lifestream are essentially the same as ghosts.

The FATES in the area mention that Voidsent are attracted to the Ceruleum that's being mined, and the Lambs of Dalamud did once have a base in an abandoned mine in North Thanalan. While nothing is explicitly stated about the state in general the cult was involved in summoning voidsent so that may be the reason for Voidsent still being there, beyond weaker ones falling through naturally occuring rifts.

I was wondering if ceruleum played into it somehow since it’s so prominent a feature in N Than. Interesting.

Lambs of Dalamud would explain it, I guess. And the bigger voidsent there 5 years later just haven’t been killed yet. Is that from FATEs too or just from cult activity in 1.0?

Dalvag still confuses me a bit, but that might just be an artifact of old plans on the nature of voidsent.

Lambs of Dalamud are still there at the mine, southeast of the ceruleum plant, labelled as "lunatic priest" and "lunatic followers" (a neat pun for a moon-based cult) plus the "Dark Devices" FATE chain that happens there as well. Plenty of voidsent grenades in that area, too.

Far from the only time voidsent crawl out the woodwork to chow down on some spicy aether, too. Happens multiple times across Conjurer and White Mage.

I think Dalvag counts as an undead instead of a voidsent, at least lore wise

Could also simply be one of those voidsent that appear on the Source occasionally that ate Dalvag whole and took his identity.
