Is there a job comfortable with Tome gear?

Basically title. I don't raid savage so I'm not going to be able to mix and match to get bis, but the Tome gear Hass lot of crap on it I don't want on some jobs, like skill and spell speed. Either too much or not enough.

And it'd rather not gimp my item level by using crafted or normal raid gear(I don't pentameld, can't afford that stuff) which still isn't guaranteed to have /not have the stat I want /don't want.

I was looking at casters but there's not enough sps for my summoner build and too much for rdm, melee too... Ideas? I need to pick a freaking main before relics come out too. ><

A few things:
-If you don't intend on tackling savage or ultimate, gear will be useless to you. So any gear is good.
-If you're okay with any set of sks, all jobs are good with tome gear.
-There's not a lot of big differences between BiS and Tome gear. Sure you'll be behind a BiS set but you'll do good enough with tome set.

I wouldn't worry too much about SMN GCD. The worst that'll happen is you'll have to do a couple of Ruin 3s before Bahamut or Phoenix.

Just rock the tome gear. You need savage gear to be BiS, but if you have no interest in savage then you don't need to be BiS.

Problem i have is that the rotation feels bad with certain stats. Like my gcd on smn is 2.36 and it feels gross. If I meld for speed, it still doesn't get low enough. As it is, I miss a third primal a lot between demis for some reason.

I want the openers and the like to feel good. Drift doesn't. Even if I won't do savage I want to do my best.

You might have to wait for a future patch where you can upgrade crafted gear to 620 and hope that it won't have SPS and just mix and match that. Also you'll be able to get a relic weapon soon so that's one less slot to worry about

Then mix and match normal raid gear with the tome and crafted gear? You can get close to your ideal stats doing it that way and ilvl doesn't really mean much for the content you're doing.

The relic is usually the same item level the latest ex trial. Don't worry too much about a main. You can likely get them all done before 7.0

As others have said, if you're not into savage, there's no need to really be too concerned about stats.

Have you tried playing around with SMN on a training dummy? Even with 2.5s GCD (no Spellspeed/naked) I can fit in all primals + Ruin 4 + 2x Ruin 3 between Bahamut and Phoenix. From my experience more Spell Speed makes this a bit tighter actually, but then you don't need to worry about delaying your Phoenix a little anyway as you will want to make sure your Bahamut lines up with Searing Light and Spell Speed affects Bahamut/Phoenix CD too.
I don't really keep up with the best strats, but the sweet spot for SMN should be around 2.4-2.42s GCD so you can fit another GCD into Bahamut/Phoenix, which should be about 930 Spell Speed.
