Bump.Greetings RhenAshadi! It's my 200th post! (That's a lot of bugs...)
As 2.0 approaches, we'll be officially releasing detailed information on naming conventions used by the five races. To tide you over until then, however, I can give you a quick rundown of the current rules Lalafells (Plainsfolk/Dunesfolk) adhere to. (Remember, there are always exceptions to the rules!)
With 2.0 approaching and many people considering changing to male Miqo'te, female Roegadyn, and female Highlander, could you drop some lore bombs on naming conventions for the other races?
Thanks for the bump!
No, we haven't forgotten about this. If all goes according to plan, we should have some info ready by the Beta test (that includes naming conventions for the male Miqo'te and female Roegadyn & Highlanders). The current plan is to post it on the official site, so new players can have easy access to the data as well. When it goes live, I'll also be sure to throw a reply up here, just in case!
I look forward to it.
I saved your post about Lalafell names for future reference, and I'll surely save the others. It would be nice if ARR's character creator had an auto-name feature that conjures up race-appropriate names, just like FFXI had.
That idea has actually been brought up at meetings in the past. Still no word on whether or not it will actually make it into ARR, but I'll let the team know that there are players out there who would like the feature implemented.
Thanks for the suggestion!
I'd love a lore forum. It's by far my favorite thing to discuss.
I don't know if this was mentioned before, but didn't someone mention a library or something in ARR that would have all of the lore and other goodies in it?
