Damned straight. You will not find a better dev team, anywhere with this measure of playerbase, accessibility, or content wise.

It's not really 1 button unless you macro it. Most of the time you are pressing 2 or alternating between 2. You have all your summon buttons, Astral Flow, Enkindle, Energy Drain, Ruin IV, Fester and Searing Light. I find it fun, personally.
You don't know what they'll do yet because they haven't done it. We can form a guess based on how MNK was changed but that's it.Dragoon and astrologian are my other favorite jobs, but after hearing what they're gonna do to them in 7.0, I just really don't wanna play.
I haven't seen any negativity about dark knight except on these forums. A lot of people enjoy playing dark knight. I enjoy playing machinist as well, people are just upset about its DPS and not being able to weave between a 1.5 GCD.It's been even worse lately with all the negativity with dark knight and machinist.
It's not anything recent. They made jobs hard to play in the past and they began to notice that when they made aspects of them easier or more intuitive, more people played them. Most jobs could lose something they were keeping up and ruin their damage in Stormblood so it was made easier in Shadowbringers and then they became traits in Endwalker. Before Endwalker released, we were told in a live letter that they are happy with where they got the jobs to in Shadowbringers and want to continue it in Endwalker. It really makes me feel that the huge surge of players that came with EW drove ffxiv to the boiling point of just making crappy decisions that benefits nobody.
and speaking of taking breaks, I really should start finishing my backlogs.
Eugh.

Take a break. Wait until either 6.3 or 6.25 if the variant/criterion dungeons appeal to you, and see how you feel after that. It could be you just went really hard when you started and now it's catching up to you. Take a break, pick up another game, chill for a bit with that, come back when you feel you want to. If an event or something interests you, come back for it. I've not let my sub lapse (and can back that up with my amount of days subbed, it's a large number ahah) and when I need minor breaks, I take them. Maybe log in for like, cactpot or something once a week, but otherwise do something else for a while. Usually a minor break is enough for me, where I do bare minimum and then log off to play something else. The brain break from doing that helps immensely, and while I may be saying "play something else" it's most definitely not in an offended way. Sometimes your brain just needs that cleanse! If you don't come back for a few patches, that's fine too. Everything will be there when you come back after a break to catch up on.
Going to also agree with a lot of others and say "stay off the OF because it's only negative here" lol. We don't know what they'll do with AST and DRG, and while "extensive reworks" could mean a lot of things, some may be rolled back if the changes are not what are really wanted (see: bowmage in 3.0, no one liked Wanderer's Minuet adding cast bars to bard abilities. NO ONE. they rolled that back.) I also play AST as my main healer, and while I'm unhappy with a couple of changes made to it in EW, it feels all right for now, but I do wonder what they want to change. We won't know how it feels until it happens in 7.0 and the media tours beforehand, so all we can do is speculate which isn't good for anyone - it only means that we'll have some preconceived opinion of what we think they'll do which becomes what they WILL do somewhere down the line and then it becomes being heavily disappointed in whatever they do, no matter if it's actually good or not.
No thanks, WHM Simulator But As A SMN was boring when that was the meta (and it looks like it still kind of is, only now RDM and SCH are acceptable for... HEALING AND BUFFS ugh) and put me into the SMN Out Of Spite come XIV 2.0 so I could actually use my summons. Get all these cool avatars, can only use Light Sprite to boost your healing or you don't get groups! Yeah, no, don't bring that curse here. More variance in SMN would be fine, more than just a simple rotation is fine (because while I enjoy SMN and have been playing iterations of it since 2.0, I'd like a little more to it) but I don't want Healbot 9000 feat. A Summon. Just play SCH at that point because that's all it is.

I used to play and love Sum for years, but I don't even want to touch it now because of how boring it is.
My main is Ast and I've been raiding with it for years and i'm worried it gets the same treatment, remove all depth, even though it hardly has any left.
Just so many jobs are braindead now I almost want to have a FF14 Heavensward Classic like WoW has..
Not to mention people are so bad now because of the quick braindead leveling people still don't know to aoe etc in 80 dungeons..
Lots of things to complain about, but I still keep finding reasons to play, raiding with friends mostly.
I'm lucky to be running a very popular FC on Lich at the moment, and I too am feeling completely burnt out and unable to even press the update button on the launcher at the moment because; well, why would I?
the game has been homogenised to a single sheet of white A4 paper, there's no rough edges for me to explore, everything is just a sea of white parchment with a few indentations here and there, maybe 30 minutes of fun if I'm lucky, but overall it's just the same experience over and over again.
Nostalgia bait > being disappointed by it > Do the new raid tiers > realise how easy the game has become now > try savage > realise how poorly classes are balanced >try Island sanctuary >it's just an idle clicker and my island looks identical to everyone else's > speak with my FC friendos > can do that much better in voice on Discord > log out and play classic wow, or something else like Sea of Thieves and have a complete blast every time.
It's sad, depressing really, because up until EW I would spend every waking moment I could on this game and absolutely adored the lore and background. But EW majorly dropped the ball and the patches continue to do so.
We'll see what happens but I wonder why this smol indie company still keeps making such hideous mistakes.

That's almost always usually the case with theae posts. They have a a couple of actual insight with their criticisms but then turn it around by going over the extreme which invalidates the point he was trying to make.
Anyway I don't believe that the dev themselves have been slowly going over the old Blizzard mentality of them being "rockstars" and not listening to feedback when they've been absolutely humble and communicative compared to other teams. It's just the simple case of people being impatient with their responses which leads to more a lot the jaded and doom saying mentality that stirs the loud minority.
I recommend finishing the tier and taking a break til the next tier, if you have not done that already . I've just been raid logging for 2 tiers and my enjoyment is not the gameplay it self (even though I do enjoy blm still) but it's to just hang with friends and do harder content. It prolongs it just a little longer. All my jobs were also made boring in with their "redesigns". I played healer which is boring, then sam til they took away kaiten, now the last bastion of good job design blm. I also recommend trying other mmos and do a raid tier in them and flip flop between the games.
For how much deserved criticism that wow get their healer and tank designs are the best in the current industry so I would recommend that. Their raid designs are also top notch so if you're a raider there's another thing to look for.

I'm gonna be honest, I've never tried endgame raiding. I've always been scarred to do it because I feel like it would be awful and I'd fuck up a ton, though the rewards seem really cool. The most endgame thing I've done was bozja and eureka which are pretty fun for the most part.
