I personally just do enough to get through the story.....lol

Zero interest in dealing with some you guys lol.......

Get me some NPC, a weapon, and a story....I can enjoy my own company. I play MMO because I like the game, not necessarily the people playing it.......I'm a Trill Negro, I will cuss you out....and sent you here to cry about.

Knowing that....I tend to just go solo.

And indeed, at least for a few of them, once someone explains the one tricky mechanic, the party powers through by sheer force.
That's more or less what I meant; the game gives them no reason to think "Hard" -> "Extreme" will be any more dramatic of a jump than normal -> "Hard" was. If "The Howling Eye" and "The Howling Eye (Hard)" were both facerolls, what reason would a sprout have to think "The Howling Eye (Extreme)" would not be?

When you're talking about groups in PF for current-level extremes that state a specific progression point, yes, it's rude if someone joins without any experience and expect people to explain the strat. But if they're at endgame and looking for groups in PF anyway, it's safe to assume they know enough about the game to know that extremes take a little preparation; if they want to be spoon-fed the mechanics in a group that isn't expressly a fresh teaching party, they're being inconsiderate of other people's time at best.

(Though, I will note, sometimes we have enough different strats used in PF—more in savage than extreme, admittedly—that asking for strat clarification isn't a bad idea; P7S can be interesting if someone labels the PF "JP Harvest" and half the group thinks you're doing Inumaru for War's Harvest and the other half thinks you're doing far tethers. But in that case, you usually know the fight in general and would just like clarification on which strat is being used.)

But when you're talking about getting an ARR extreme in mentor roulette, I don't actually think it's fair to expect anything other than sprouts coming in unprepared; the game gives them absolutely no reason to think they should read up on the mechanics.

I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.

I don't even join a new dungeon without watching all the available guide videos repeeatedly until I fully understand all the mechanics. However, doing this has scared me away from attempting savage content. (Don't know what extreme is.)

Extreme is a step below savage as far as difficulty. From here on, fights are a properly coordinated dance to learn. The only scary part (IMO) is wondering how poorly the other seven people are going to do.

Dont fear high end content, a lot of people make a way bigger deal then necessary with them and make a song and dance when groups dont clear them as if they are easy.

Just set aside an hour or two to give some high end content, starting with Extreme, runs a go.

The first set are the ARR Ex Trials against the primals. Of these, the hardest are Ramuh and King Moggle Mog - mostly due to the step up and there being so much going on. The others really arent too bad.

My advice would to be to put a group together in your FC, or make your own PF group where you can set your own terms; like newbie run/practice or for fun which should turn away most impatient types.

Extreme are essentially the harder difficulty of the trials. Mechanics change, the bosses often do things differently, and some mechanics are removed entirely. For EW, I'd suggest doing the 1st Extreme if you want to get into one. There isn't much to the fight, as it's more of a dance of mechanics to avoid. You get that down, and congratulations, you've basically taken your first step into the harder content.

Savage is basically just a step higher than that. As long as you learn "the dance", the fights aren't too difficult. There will be a few mechanics you need help with, but that goes for everybody. Personally I have difficulty with some of the mechanics from P6S, but there's always somebody calling out mechanics to help people on where to go, if you're in a static (premade group for the tier).

first time player experience tbh that is why you can set up party finder and set restrictions also watching a video then jumping in is an overload of information sometimes just going in blind then watching a video can make the video way more easy to understand
