I love me some pvp, toxicity and all.

But with the "balancing" that was done, the gacha game on the team mates, the heal spam, the self sustain of certain classes, the server tick, and the horrid MMR, and the BURST that you need to kill one person, the INFINITE CC...

Why do I bother anymore, the rewards are MEH at best. If the pvp was more about a good brawl then just getting CC'd into next expantion it wouldn't be this depressing.

It seems to really not be very popular atm, I fight the same people every match and/or get people that seem way out of my range (top 20 crystal players or low golds instead of my actual rank) I think it’s pretty fun at times but…they didn’t even add new rewards to get more people trying out ranked :/ I only tried ranked this season bc I wanted the diamond title, i only did casual before. Now that I have it and have seen what the matchmaking is like in diamond rank and even plat I don’t know if I have motivation to continue lol

Servers are weird too, I’ve had recuperates go off too late, guard not go off, etc.

I think they need to add some more changes to make sure CC doesn’t die

Those aren't the servers, it's the netcode this game had since forever. It is just a lot more noticeable in pvp because it is faster and more reaction based than pve where you watch a boss stand there and cast it's "tick tock instant death"-mechanic for 5 seconds. And even in pve the server ticks occasionally get someone killed, despite your heal going out and the ability going on cooldown. The server has already registered them as dead and nothing you do can change it.

Yes I’m over pvp too. It’s ridiculous. I hate when I use guard only for me to go into animation with the barrier not around me and I still take damage and die. The fact that purify doesn’t work correctly and I get 5-7 seconds of constant CC. No thanks. Plus the rewards are terrible for ranked.

PVP is one of 3 reasons I actually log in to do anything in XIV (with the other 2 relating to maintaining my estates and running a single dungeon/roulette with friends upon their personal request)...
Sadly, they Yoshi'd all over that P and job balance is worse now than when it started (and it seems like they're going to just make it worse due to arbitrary abstract reasoning that I don't think even they understand), so the fun's been sorta sucked out of it for me. Mounts notwithstanding, there's basically no reason to accumulate those crystal points and PVP rewards are still not as substantial unless you want a lot of GC Seals.

It would be nice if Squeen could just not be so... Squeen, when they begin trying to "refine" the fun parts of their game.

The idea behind the PvP changes were good, but SE clearly is unable to properly support it. It's worse when it needs a lot of help like the state it's in now but even basic changes seem to take forever.

What idea behind...either you can pull it off or you fail. Considering they should know their own engine etc. the whole rework is complete bogus.

I hate to say I agree with you, but I do. I honestly love the PVP. My issue lies with the netcode or server tick or whatever you wish to call it. I also hate to say I’ve gone back to WoW for pvp now that they announced solo rated shuffle
