    [Frontlines] Can we talk about Hounding the Rock achievement?

    So I'm aiming for the "Keeper of Knowledge" title and on Seal Rock games, I go hunting for new node spawns to get the initial occupation on them. With a bit of knowledge and knowing when new nodes will spawn you can position yourself to be close and first person to node spawns. I'm getting 3-6 occupations per game.

    What I noticed though...this loses games. My win rate for seal rock is like, 10%. In order for me to optimize my occupations per game, I'm taking very bad actions for my team. I'm leaving contested nodes I should be protecting to get new occupations. I'm taking nodes my team will never be able to reach and hold, and the quick occupation typically makes the lemming hive mind move to places on the map that harm the team. In the rare instance your best action to occupy a node is by assaulting an enemy-held node with your team, you're still going to be sitting there spam clicking the node instead of fighting, so you're still useless even when you're with your team.

    So basically the better you are at getting occupations, the worse your team is going to fair.

    This is an extremely harmful achievement/title that encourages awful gameplay. Something about it should change.

    I think they should just remove Seal Rock from the game and give everyone the achievements related to it for free.

    You will also have two or more people (the most I've seen is seven) simultaneously trying to occupy the node, all trying to get the achievement. And when your team is battling for that node, that's fewer bodies in the fight.

    Tunnel visioning is probably the worst thing in these games and having an achievement that makes you want to do that is worse. Granted node positioning isn't a bad thing to do as it can avoid some pointless/drawn out fights but only focusing those is detrimental.

    It sucks because PvP achievement titles are cool to have and Keeper of Knowledge is one of them.

    Found this while looking for a specific answer. Yes, the achievement should at least be granted to those around the node.

    Also, do you get an achievement point only from capturing it for your team or also from taking it away from an enemy team?

    The achievements in PvP, and in general in this game, are so uninspiring and bland. They are all "Do <thing> 1000 times" ad nauseam with no regard for game mode, party comp or size, impact on the environment or players around you, or anything.

    I'd like to see achievements overhauled in general. Things like:

    "Score 5 KO's in a single Zantetsuken"
    "Do 3 million damage in a single round of Frontlines with any melee job"
    "Save 5 allies from death by applying a shield"

    Would be infinitely more interesting, encourage players to get better at the game, and make game modes in this game a lot more fun.

    They could even create unique job specific titles for such achievements similar to the bland "Spam 100 high end dungeons over and over and over as a tank" = tank title.

    I think these are good ideas. Equally, it's quite tricky to balance individual achievements with behavior that most benefits the team. And this is already an issue in FL with padders more interested in personal stats than helping the team win.
