Castrum Novum - battle strategies and wins

So done the quest to get access into Castrum. You have to take a long circituous route to get to the door (the door acts as the entry npc/ather) Inside there is the generator with 3 other beams protecting it. You have to defeat the beams in order to attack the central transmitter. In the mean time there is a Magitec to fight and imperial spawns

Oh and the protecting beams respawn, so you have to attack in installments. Also synch your kill of the protecting beams. Its very fun. Oh and apparently you get greater rewards when the party is mixed companies. The quest is worth 5K seal, so i wonder how much you get bonus (edit: you get an extra 1K bonus)

We were doing well with a PLD kiting everyone around, but the adds eventually got to be too much. Did you all (those who won) do anything with them or just leave them be?

we tried kiting but the big guys hate was too messed up. So we tried to zerg the big guy and sleep adds but it was too slow and adds spawned to fast.

anyone have any luck?

Just attacked the transmiter with a couple DPS while a couple other DPS kept 1-2 of the beams down. Tank held the big guy, WHMs cured. When the transmitter blows, the fight is won.

The way my group won was focusing on adds, then generators, then transmitter, and whoever had hate on the magitek would just kite him.

This is our strat, bring 1 tank 4 dps 1 blm 2 whm, need at least 1 blm to sleepga adds.

People with hates on big gundam robot kites it.
Have 2 people assigned at each pillar, so if one takes hate, one can still continue to bring down pillar.

Take all pillar to low health, do sync kill, then damage middle generator.
Rinse and repeat, u can sleepga adds for few cycle but kills them when u starts get overwhelmed, this is where PLD will be useful to keep adds under control. Not necessarily for big gundam robot.

Big gundam robot hate is shared with pillar, so tank can jsut damage pillar to get hate easier because the gundam has big deefense.

All we did was focus on the adds when they spawn, take all the generators down to about 5% and then have everyone kill them, whoever gets hate kites until the tank can get hate back on the gundam looking thing while the rest of the party does damage to the main generator.

We won twice using this strategy with little to no problems so yeah, not really too diffcult.
